Stepping Stone

Was interested to read the article that Jason Brown has just signed for Dartford.

Bear in mind when Hessie wanted to sign him Jason Brown said he would use us as a stepping stone, which resulted in Hessie pulling out of the deal.

Brown spent last season at Sutton United where to his credit he was in the Conference South team of the year. Now he has signed for Dartford.

Seems like we wouldnt have been a stepping stone at all, we would have been his Boulder lol.

Wish him well, but the irony makes me laugh.

I tend to agree, and suggest he would have played more first team football, albeit with less money, had he stayed with us originally. But, as they say, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Its amazing how far some seem to fall. I guess pride and poor management has a lot to do with it, holding out for deals that never materialise until there are few options left. Would have thought he would have been picked up by a League 2 club at least though.
