League One Winners?

Postby Kent_UckyFriedGills » Mon Aug 04, 2014 7:30 pm

I have gone for Sheffield Utd to win the League.Clough has really improved Sheffield Utd since he took over. They were in the bottom four when he took over, and they finished the season not far off of the Playoffs, and had a great FA Cup run.Bristol City are looking strong with a very good attacking side,so they will be right up there.Peterborough as well are looking a good side all over the pitch. Then Preston who were very close to the automatic spots last season.
Noircat Premier League Champion 2007,and 2014.Noircat FA Cup (Runner Up 2014).Promoted to the Premier League (Runner Up 2017,and 2020 in the Championship).

I would say it is between Bristol City and Sheffield United, these two are likely to have the strongest squad depth to cope with a 46 league game season and even if both sides got injuries and suspensions they are likely to take advantage of the loan market to strengthen there squads, Yeovil Town got promoted into The Championship the season before last so you don't have to have the biggest finances to get promoted but it does give you an huge advantage.

None of the three relegated clubs (Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers or Yeovil Town) have the fear factor that Wolves had, these three are defiantly beatable depending on how we play against these sides on the day, all three relegated sides are going to find it very difficult to get in and around the top six this coming season.

I think Sheffield United will win League One, they ended last season very strongly and I can see Sheffield United taking that form into the start of the 2014 / 2015 season.

Sides that go down struggle and sides that end the previous season on a high often do well the following season so I too think Bristol City and Sheffield Utd will be tough to beat. I think Orient will struggle as their moment has gone and either Barnsley or Yeovil could end up with a double relegation. For me it is Preston of the League 1 mainstays that will possibly end up doing the best. Whether they finish above City or Utd though I don't know.
