Coventry City V Gillingham

I think Gillingham will line up as follows.......................

----------------------------Bywater-----------------------------------
Fish----------------Egan----------------Hause-----------------Martin
----------A.Morris---------Davies------------Hessenthaler-----------
McGlashan-------------------------------------------------------Dack
----------------------------Kedwell------------------------------------

Subs: G.Morris (GK), Legge, McKain, Pritchard, Dickenson, Norris McDonald

I think Gillingham will line up with five in midfield and look to contain Coventry City, we could quite easily line up with two holding midfielders with Cody McDonald and Danny Kedwell up-front but I just think that we need the additional cover of a fifth midfielder, Aron Morris will probably come back into the starting line up alongside Jake Hessenthaler and I think that Callum Davies might well be the surprise inclusion to start as a defensive holding midfielder alongside these two with Jermaine McGlashan on the right, Bradley Dack on the left and Danny Kedwell up-front.

I know this is a defensive formation, but I think with the crowd, the atmosphere and the occasion that Gillingham are going to need to stay in the game tonight and ensure that the opening twenty minutes are closely contested and we keep things tight because if Coventry City score and Gillingham play two up top then we are just going to have another Barnsley Situation again where we lose 4 - 1 and another game where Gillingham could of conceded 7 - 8 goals.

Cody McDonald started on Tuesday Night and was substituted at half time, I think Cody McDonald will be used sparingly as Cody has just come back from injury and Cody might get 20 - 25 minutes tonight, I would be surprised if we started Cody McDonald and Danny Kedwell away at Coventry, at home against Crewe Alexandra was different as the onus was on Gillingham to attack, tonight we need to ensure we frustrate Coventry and stay in the game.

A point tonight would keep the momentum going, a win would be a out-standing result - COME ON THE GILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would take a point as their players will be right up for the game with it being their first game back home in Coventry. The positive thing is most of their players will not have played at the Ricoh arena, which will hopefully help us.I hope we can do ourselves proud in front of the Sky Cameras, and get something from the game.FOM I think Cody will play at least 60 minutes as he was taken off at Half-Time against Stevenage.

Was hoping to read some sort of report from someone who watched the game even on tv last night but nothing here so no worries. Great crowd nearly 30,000 and the little bit I read Gillingham did not seem to be completely out classed although it always worries me that in 90 minutes we can only get four or five shots off at their goal, if that stat is right ??

Probably the right score on the night; neither keeper was really troubled - Bywater could do nothing about the goal and he made that excellent save from the 40yd effort halfway through the second period.

Overall we defended very professionally but it was at the expense of going forward - we just didn't seem to have the "outlet" once we got possession as everyone was playing deep

Our best period of play and pressure came in the last 20 mins or so when Coventry seemed to tire.

I was disappointed that we lost the game,as I felt we deserved a point for our second half performance. If only we had more belief, and Kedwell playing for his presence and what he gives then we may have got a result. We had a lot of the ball at times, unfortunately we couldn't score.I felt we looked more like scoring, and their best chance other than the goal was the long range shot that nearly caught Bywater out.We didn`t disgrace ourselves on TV,it was just a shame we never got any credit from Sky who were only interested in Coventry.

The players have a whole week to prepare for Oldham away now, hopefully we will have Loft back for next week.

Thanks guys, I am with the view that P.T . bringing in so many new mid field players is working, guess we need some forwards next time the transfer window opens.
