I am giving The Second Leg a miss

Postby fan_of_mulligan » Wed Jan 07, 2015 3:46 pm

I am going to give The Second Leg at Ashton Gate a miss and by doing so I will miss my first Gillingham game since Hartlepool United away in The 2009 / 2010 season - I couldn't make it to Erith & Belvedere away in The Kent Senior Cup last season, and I missed The Kent Senior Cup game against Bromley because Gillingham were at home to Exeter City on the same-night - but some of you might not count Kent Senior Cup Matches as competitive fixtures ???

Tickets, Travel, Food, Drink and Programme will be close to £60 and Gillingham have to win 2-0 at Ashton Gate just to take the match to a penalty shoot-out, also with this game being live on SKY I thought this would the game to miss and I would save my money and go to Ashton Gate for the league game instead.

Is anyone on here going to Ashton Gate for The Second Leg ???

O ye of little faith, the beautiful Miss Fanny Mulligan has seen the light, it has shone on her golden locks and she has seen the future ,and at such a young and tender age.
It took Mr. Lidbit 50 years for him to see the light, lol, but he never was a quitter, always said things would get better, then on a cold and foggy night on the way back from a game in Oxford, which was actually being played in Shrewsbury he saw the the light and look at him now, a jolly red faced happy man, playing Santa at Christmas in Debenhams, spending hours and hours with the lovely Mrs. Lidbid ( Good morning Ma'm how are you today, well I hope) shopping for the necessities of life, toilet paper, insect repellent for their pick nicks at Sharps Green, washing powder, etc etc, but a happy happy man and he saves almost 3/4 million quid a year on his season ticket by not renewing it, Mrs.Lidbit loves that.
It kind of goes like this for the next 50 years my dear Ms Mulligan , you start off missing an away game here and there, convinced there going to loose by a hat full (and so am I ) and before long your a couch potato cheering for Chelsea, pretending their Gillingham because at least they both wear blue.

You do make me laugh Chicago!!! Somehow I can even hear Lidbid complaining about being in the wrong town!!

FOM, I definitely don't count cup games as competitive fixtures no do include them in my stats as they are games for the development squad and the manager does not manage the side in those games. To go to all of those as well every away trip I was surprised to hear you would miss that however it is TOTALLY understandable! If we pull off a massive shock though...........................!

Away matches are expensive and The Friends For A Fiver, Kids For A Quid, Two Free Tickets and Half Price Tickets vouchers in My Season Ticket are all for home matches and they all benefit someone else, and I would like to see incentives for those who travel to away matches - or if that isn't possible then let Season Ticket Holders in for free for home pre-season matches and get money off home cup matches, like last nights Football League Trophy Game against Bristol City.

At least The Second Leg is on SKY Sports so I can watch the entire match on there.

OK well if you don't consider The Kent Senior Cup as "a competitive fixture" then Gary, then the second leg will be the first match I have missed since Hartlepool United away in the 2009 / 2010 season.

I agree. If you are going to have a season ticket with added benefits there should be a choice of two, either one to cater for away supporters or one for friends and family as that would tick all the boxes.

I agree to, I don't know what I am agreeing to ,but I agree to.
It always amazes me that everyday in the mail I get letters asking me to join this bank or get this credit card, switch my TV cable supplier and I have already have an account at the dam bank , or have the credit card or use that cable supplier and everyone is giving new members $50 a month off this and 5% off that for six months, and stupid me never gets a dime back just keeps paying and paying, getting nothing back ,but the new member he gets arms and legs, lol.

You won't be missing the game now though Lee will you? As it has been moved forward a week and is now live on TV.

With the match live on SKY I am defiantly not missing it, but I will be watching the game on The Telly and not at Ashton Gate.

With Tickets, Travel, Food, Drink and A Match Day Programme, I am going to spending close to £60 getting there and getting back, I rather save that money for when we go to Ashton Gate in the league.

I don't like missing matches and all the while a match kicks off with the score at 0-0 then I am there, but The Second Leg will kick off with Gillingham needing to win 2-0 just to take the match to penalties, a 2-0 away win is tough against anyone, but to win 2-0 away to Bristol City - I love to see it happen but I just cannot see it happening.
