Gillingham make there first signing of the summer today, Ryan Jackson, 24, sign's for Gillingham from Newport County and the young defender has signed a two year contract.

Ryan Jackson can play at right back and he can also play as a right wing back.

He is the first signing intended straight for the first team. The other 2 players were signed for the development squad to see how they get on.

I dont know the player so it will be interesting to see what he is like.

Well 2 players signed on 1 year contracts for the development squad hardly feels like a signing to most of us.

Hopefully they will develop really well and we sign them up on longer contracts.

The BBC don`t class the signings of List,and Osadebe as first Team signings,as they`re not on the completed Transfer pages.

They`re not,but they only class first Team signings as proper Transfers,unless you think both the Youngsters are going straight into the first Team?
