I could be wrong but the kick-off time needs checking, I was under the impression that it was a 07.15pm (19.15) kick-off, wouldn't want anyone to arrive ½hr late.

Thank you Baron, I received a tweet confirming the date but I never saw a change in time and they never actively promoted that and rather mentioned it later in the text (the last game was 7:45). So glad you said!!!

Chicago, wasn't this the information you were after? This was a reason why we moved the match discussions to a separate space. You click on a link in a few years time and I will take you straight to the match we talked about! Doesn't have to same impact now but it will later (as well as being a useful reference point). The match in green (cups are in green) is the game you are referring to????

OH good grief, why oh why would I possibly want to click onto a link in a few years time and read about us beating up Yeovil in a paint pot trophy match ? You really do have to much time on your hands old darling, but anyway thanks for thinking about us, I am sure a few people on here will find that all incredibly useful, for what, I personally have no God dam idea.
Let me ask, your a hoarder aren't you garawa, lol, one day I will open the newspaper and your picture will be there, I won't be able to see your face, just your feet sticking out of this huge pile of Gillingham memorabilia, old programs, pictures of her majesty and that other old queen Scally, your bed , wardrobe, chest of draws, the whole dam thing would have come crashing through the front room ceiling all from the weight of your collection and landed on your head in the middle of you watching a rerun of the 1966 World Cup final ( not to give anything away but we won) and it will take them five hours to dig you out and get you to the Medway Hospital.
Look , here is a tip for free, if you haven't used it for six months think about throwing it away, if you have not used it in a year THEN DEFINITELY THROW IT AWAY.
NO NO Mrs. Lidbit, put him down , not him, you have to keep him your married to him, and not only that, but he has a pension coming in a few months, he will be fine, few blue pills and Mr L will be up and running like he was when he was 20. Oh you didn't know him till he was 25 t, oopps my bad.

Lol, I'm definitely a hoarder but not to that degree!

There have been a few times when we have referenced a match from the past but people couldn't remember if it was on page 496 or 694! Sometimes, especially if a memorable match, people like to see what happened to remind them or to bring up a subject later on. It may happen if Dack makes his England debut or the next time we meet Fleetwood for example as some may want to refer to when the goals was scored. It just keeps it tidy and easier to find and it stops all the Gills talk falling off the main pages too quickly to give our occasional readers a chance to look at them. Between that and the clubs main website you should find all the info you're looking for.....even the dates for Football League Trophy matches ;-)

GFC featured on Sky TV's football writers' prog Sunday morning - but in a disparaging way. Referring to Man City's lack of success in Europe the panel had a good laugh along the lines of 'it's all very well beating Gillingham ( at Wembley in the play-offs I guess ? ) but if you can't do it in Europe you're not all that '.

I quite like the programme in general but that exchange had me spitting Granola everywhere.

I could understand it if was a season or two ago but times have changed somewhat there (it's not even a real comparison really is it? A better one would be saying its all well and good beatings Champions League teams but no good if you can't beat the likes of Gillingham). They were nowhere near the biggest club in the world and the Gallacher brothers were possibly the richest people to have walked through the door at the time. We will never be that level I know that but neither will 98% of all clubs including 3/4 of the Premier League itself so why the need to mock a side from 15 years ago seems odd. In fact they should praise as many clubs higher than us at the time have either dropped very low or gone entirely! I bet Portsmouth won't get the same disdain and rather absorb all the sympathy and admiration they can muster. I suppose it goes to show how much they view the Football League these days.

Well, they are football writers so I suppose it's too much to expect them to be interested in anything beyond back page headlines. Some interesting comments though on why the "English" teams in the CL these days appear not to have much bottle.
