I'm not getting into this again. Their risk was minimal as they have a multi-millionaire investor who could mop up the shortfall and pay to be the centre of attention. If Scally did it it would cause significant financial issues and he would be accused of doing it just boost his ego. He/we do not have that sort of money lying around to waste like that.

Precisely - that's why we need to be rid of him. Actually it's not that he doesn't have any money it's simply that he keeps it well away from GFC.

I am not sure about going to Maidstone United, as Gillingham are likely to have a first team game on Saturday The 25th of July which will be more appealing to go to.

Gillingham will send a second eleven team to play against Hollands & Blair FC at The Star Meadow Ground on Saturday The 18th of July.

There still needs to be official confirmation that this fixture is going to take place, but I would guess that the first team will also be playing against someone on the same-day.

Maidstone United assistant boss Nicky Southall has put in some hard yards to arrange a pre-season friendly with his former club Gillingham but the hard work has paid off.

I always thought that Gillingham were going to play a pre-season friendly on Saturday The 25th of July and with The Brighton & Hove Albion Game on The 29th, The Maidstone United Game was always going to be a Gillingham XI Side.

Makes sense to cancel this friendly if Maidstone United cannot provide segregation for home and away supporters.

Sounded very comfortable. With a goal ruled out as well and with two squads used in the game (both a mix of established and youth players) it was a very good result.

Gills beat Tonbridge Angels 2-1 with goals from Luke Norris and John Egan.It was a day of remembrance for Junior Dian who died playing for Tonbridge earlier in the week.It was a nice touch by Gills to lay a wreath in respect.
