The games at the moment keep coming thick and fast.We travel to League 2 Stevenage for the first round of the JPT on Tuesday Night. What Team would you play? I believe we have to play a strong squad due to the rules.I think this game is definitely winnable for us,and we should go there with confidence from Saturday`s win.It would be nice to make it into the second round, and its a competition we should take seriously. There is a trip to Wembley to aim for,and of course a Trophy. We will be playing against too familiar ex players in Chris Whelpdale, and Charlie Lee.Hopefully the ex Gills player curse does not strike.

What are your thoughts on the game? We can only name 5 subs in the JPT.

A great win for us with a bit of a weakened Team out.We rested Kedwell,Egan, and McGlashan.I listened on Gillsplayer and we dealt with a lot of pressure from Stevenage,Lee did sound like he had a great game for them and Luke Cawdell said he was the best player on the pitch.Cody won the penalty, and the commentary Team thought Their keep should have been sent off.Norris took the penalty and scored his first goal for the Club.We went down to ten men in the second half after Hoyte was sent off for a tackle from behind.Taylor says he might appeal, but it does make you wonder why their keeper was not sent off? They said Morris made a few good saves, and he is doing all he can to try and get the shirt off of Bywater. It would have been more relaxing to listen to had we killed the game off when Norris had his shot saved, and German blazed over.Stevenage kept the pressure on to the final whistle, but luckily we held on to go through.

Some are not bothered by the JPT,but it is a Competition that has a Trophy and day out at Wembley at the end of it.More importantly right now it should give us confidence going into the Coventry game live on Sky on Friday Night.

Peter Taylor gives his thoughts on Gillingham's 1 - 0 win against Stevenage last night and plans to appeal Gavin Hoyte's red card, if our appeal is un-successful then Gavin Hoyte will miss the next three matches.
