We`re back in action tomorrow night when we travel to Crawley to play in the JPT Area Quarter Final. We`re in such bad form so confidence is not high and no fan is expecting us to win.Crawley are not in the best form either, and John Gregory has even considered his position in the last week.Hopefully we will be more attacking than we were on Saturday and go for it.A win would give us much needed confidence for the League.
What Team would you play? I would go 4-4-2....
Nelson
Hoyte,Egan,Hause,Martin
McGlashan,Loft,Doughty,Dack
German,McDonald
I would have Kedwell on the bench for this game as he played 90 minutes on Saturday and looked like he was struggling come the end.I would bring him on in the second half and then have him start on Saturday against Leyton Orient.

I think Gillingham will line up as follows.......................
-------------------------------Bywater-------------------------------------
Fish---------------Egan-----------------Hause---------------------Martin
---------------------Loft-----------------Doughty--------------------------
McGlashan-----------------------------------------------------------Dack
-------------------Norris---------------Dickenson-----------------------
Subs: Davies, Hessenthaler, Pritchard, McDonald, Kedwell
I think Stephen Bywater has to play a percentage of the matches he is available for selection for, I saw someone post this on Twitter after our 1 - 0 defeat against Fleetwood Town when one Gillingham Supporter asked why Stephen Bywater was in goal and not Stuart Nelson, if that really is the case then I would play Stephen Bywater tonight and play Stuart Nelson against Leyton Orient on Saturday, both Stuart Nelson and Stephen Bywater are exceptional goalkeepers and it is a lucky scenario to have, I just which Gillingham had this sort of selection problem in other area's of the pitch.
I am still expecting to see Peter Taylor make the maximum six changes to the starting eleven that started against Bristol City on Saturday and I can see Matt Fish, Bradley Dack, Jermaine McGlashan, Luke Norris and Brennan Dickenson all starting tonight against A Crawley Town Side who are likely to make a few changes for this evening's game as well, Matt Fish, Luke Norris, Bradley Dack and Brennan Dickenson have not played a lot of competitive first team football recently and Jermaine McGlashan made such a big difference when he came on as a sub on Saturday that McGlashan has to start tonight.
Both Cody McDonald and Danny Kedwell could start up-front tonight but we probably need the pair of them up-front against Leyton Orient, I would have both strikers on the bench tonight so that if we need them on to score a goal or need to bring them on for the penalty shoot-out then we have got the option to do so - it has to be 4.4.2 tonight, I think we should go for it and see if Gillingham can start tonight's game the way we ended the match against Bristol City, with a place in The Southern Section Semi Final's up for grabs and the chance to play at Wembley Stadium for The Football League Trophy Final then Gillingham need to go for it - COME ON THE GILLS!!!!!!!

If Taylor does not throw 4 forwards at Crawley then he needs to go NOW,and made to walk home.
Just spoke to the fly on the wall, he was flying along side the Gills bus, said he heard PT telling his assistants that he is thinking of playing 5 defenders, 5 midfield, no one up front and banking on the keeper using the wind to kick a long ball into the Crawley net .
After the last few weeks ,why not, sounds like a good plan, at least he has got one for this game, must be something he learnt coaching the under 21 squad back in the day.

Ok so it wasn't the keeper that kicked a 35 yarder into the back of the net for a Gills win, but I was close ,you have to remember the fly on the wall was going flat out at 65 mph into a head wind at the side of the bus when he over heard the plan,so you have to give him a little credit, lol.

Got to hand it to them - a remarkable result especially given the amount of time we played with 10 men. Sounds like we really did go for it last night, hopefully it will be a boost to confidence and a wake-up about tactics.

A fantastic result for all at the Club.At Half-Time with us 1-0 down and then in the second half going down to ten men when Martin was was sent off,you could just not see us coming back. With McGlashan and Dack coming on they changed the game and we ended up deserving the win based on the second half.I have seen McGlashan`s miss and it is up there with Barrett`s against Stevenage! But luckily he got his goal, and Loft with his first goal for the Club as well. This result is big for two reasons as we we`re now in the Area Semi-Final,and hopefully this will give us the confidence to beat Leyton Orient on Saturday.
