This thread can be used to discuss all loan deadline signings and not just the signings that Gillingham may or may not make today....

You may also post any rumours or speculation you hear in this thread as well.

So Peter Taylor's hopes of signing someone on loan will depend on someone leaving Gillingham on loan.

Callum Davies has signed for Dover Athletic until January The 4th.

And Gillingham have signed Harry Lennon on loan from Charlton Athletic on a youth loan deal until January The 3rd.

What are your thoughts on today's transfer news ???

If those 2 are linked then I am very surprised, allowing Davies to go out whilst bringing in a youth player. I guess Emmer would replace Hause but not sure Taylor would play the 3 or 5 at the back too often as it relies on Legge being involved as the same centreback trio all the time.

The really interesting thing about todays activity , is that it puts the old defensive pairing of Davies and Essam back together - They've played together for the junior and youth sides since they were pre-teen up to breaking into the first team .

I hadn't realised that. I rated them both to be honest, gave everything and they will be very good at that level I guess.

So this is confusing! Why sign a youth player and then allow Callum, who recently captained the side, out on loan? I thought he had made the breakthrough when he played several matches on the trot and did well but now he is being frozen out again. I know he is coming back from injury but if he can play for Dover surely he can play for us? I hope Lennon turns out to be a good signing, but I happen to believe that Davies can be a long term good player for us, not a possible good player for a handful of games. Mystifying!
