I think with how well Egan has been playing since we have signed him,and now he has added goals to his game we should look at tieing Egan down on a big deal like we did with Dack, and Hessenthaler.I am sure Clubs have taken notice of Egan`s performances, and I wouldn`t be surprised if the likes of Norwich,Peterborough,Nottingham Forest, and Blackburn have been impressed with him so far.

This is what confuses me. I think Egan and Hause have been 2 of our best players this season and Ehmer looks immense yet we concede a lot of goals. This has slowed, Chicksen looks fairly decent as well so hopefully we are on the way to rectifying but it doesn't make a lot of sense as we have a reasonable midfield as well. Has to be about system rather than players and holding onto the ball as possession is a bit of a worry.

I am convinced that John Egan will not be at Gillingham Football Club in a year's time because someone will make us a offer we cannot reuse, Hopefully Egan's potential move to a Championship Club will raise Gillingham's Profile as a club that gives young players a chance and more young players released by Premier League and Championship Reserve and Academy Sides are willing to come to Gillingham.

I cannot see John Egan signing a contract extension unless Gillingham maintain there League One Status, if Gillingham want to keep there best players then we need to be playing in League One, we might have to wait until the summer before we can start offering a longer contract to John Egan.

I think your over estimating what other clubs think of the Mighty Gills my dear Ms.Mulligan. Were one of about 50 clubs in the First and Second divisions who if we have the money Champion clubs will loan players to, no money for wages,no players on loan.

John Egan scored twice in a game for the first time on Saturday, But his joy turned to disappointment after Port Vale snatched a stoppage-time equaliser.

I think Egan would sign a new deal if offered,as he seems to be enjoying his Football here.I think with him only having a year left currently,we may be under pressure to sell in the Summer if we have not extended his contract by then.

I suppose it depends on what basis going to another club would mean for him. I got the impression from his interview pre-season that a big issue for him was not playing regularly and he relished that at the Gills. I doubt he would be willing to make a step up only to play second fiddle again.

FOR................... Great if we can sign him again, could be a big time player in our promotion battle back to the First Division next year.

AGAINST...............Taylor will end up playing him out of position again and again ( I do not think he is an old fashioned full back) because Taylor is either to dim to see what 6,800 other people saw ,or just to bloody obstinate to admit it , and Egan will fail to reach his full potential.

I don't think he is obstinate, just that three of our best players lately have all been central defenders! He tried 3 at the back and it didn't work so instead had a back 4 with 3 central defenders in it. That hasn't really worked either. He either needs to drop one or play one out of position. In another thread I suggest Ehmer as a defensive midfielder which may solve the problem.

Peter Taylor deserves credit for convincing John Egan to sign for Gillingham Football Club in the first place because Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town both wanted to sign the young defender, but the lure of regular competitive first team football and a two year deal in League One was precisely what John Egan was looking for, if we can convince John Egan to sign a longer contract at the club then that would be fantastic news because I think John Egan has been Gillingham's Player Of The Season This Season.

However I think we might have to wait for Gillingham to maintain our League One Status before John Egan sign's on the dotted line, I cannot see John Egan signing a contract extension all the while our League One Status is in doubt.
