AFC Wimbledon Manager Neal Ardley is the latest manager linked to The Gillingham Job.

I would like Gareth Ainsworth as the new manager! Has taken Wycombe Wanderers from almost certain relegation to promotion candidates in 12 months with one of the lowest budgets in League 2!

Former Accrington Stanley Manager and Southampton Player James Beattie is currently linked to The Gillingham Managerial Position.

Dennis Wise and Stephen Constantine are other names I have seen linked to The Managerial Vacancy and I expect we will hear quite a few more names linked to The Gillingham Job in the next few days as well.

Uwe Rosler for me would be a much better job considering what he achieved at Brentford, alright he didn't succeed at Wigan Athletic, but I am sure that Uwe Rosler would be looking to get back into football management and Gillingham might be a better fit for Uwe Rosler then Wigan Athletic.

Former Cheltenham Town Manager Mark Yates is the latest manager to be linked with The Gillingham Job.

Sean O`Driscoll for me.He is currently working with the England U19s,he didnt do well at Bristol City but quite a few have struggled there in recent years.His spells at Bournemouth,and Doncaster were decent and he likes to play attacking Football.

Forget Ainsworth,he wants to take Wycombe into the 1st Division as Manager,(it's a pride thing) forget Beattie and Yates, BUT I think the woman of my dreams Ms.Fanny Mulligan might have picked a winner this time, (if we can keep him long enough,and afford to pay him)...... URI GELLER.
He would be my pick as well, and I am not just saying that because I love the woman,the way URI bends those spoons is amazing, if he could teach the Gills players to bend the ball like that from free kicks we would bang 5 or 6 home every game and we wouldn't need a defense,he could do that magic stuff and hide an elephant or something in the goal so that no one would be able to score against us.
Uri wants nothing more than to manage again in the Premier Division and with Gillingham FC being on the verge of getting a new stadium, a windfall from the camel racing in Dubai for new players,I could see us there under Mr,Geller's guidance, and in less than 5 years.

I am hoping that the next manager Gillingham appoint is here for the long term and from the next manager's first press conference we hear the words "A Long Term Project" or "Long Term Objective, From the start of The 2011 / 2012 season Gillingham have had three manager's (Andy Hessenthaler, Martin Allen and Peter Taylor) and now we're looking for our fourth manager in just four years.

Hopefully the next manager is appointed with a long term objective in mind.

Mark. When Joe Dunne was manager of Colchester you wanted him with us every time. Now he is out of work you champion Gareth Ainsworth! What did Mr Dunne do so wrong?!

It's funny how things change over the years. Gerry Summers had no first team management experience, he produced one of the most attractive teams we have ever had. Sir Keith had no first team management experience and Mr Pulis was the same. Now fans seem to want a proven track record. Strange thing is if they are available it is either because they have been sacked for poor performance or their club will release them because they have someone else already in mind.
I would love to see a young ambitious manager either with there first league appointment or someone who is looking to build a reputation in English football.

Totally agree that in the long term a " new boy on the block mentality" is probably the way to go. Looking at us sitting at the bottom of the table, I think a call to an experienced manager should be made,even if he only gets the job from now till the end of the season.
It's so dam hard to climb out of the division below when you get relegated,especially if you loose the nucleolus of the team and after 40+ years of yo yoing up and down between the third and fourth divisions I don't want to see us back there again.
I am all for the new broom sweeping clean mentality, I get fed up with seeing the same old re tread managers rolled out again and again.
Maybe Scally should take the find someone with fire in their belly and bring them in attitude, but please Gods of footie let us stay up, PLEASE.

Gary, Joe Dunne has done nothing wrong! I think he would be an excellent manager, also I like Mark Kinsella who was with Joe at Colchester! If it was Joe I would be delighted! Gareth Ainsworth for the way he has turned Wycombe Wanderers round in a short space of time makes me think he is a great motivator and can inspire our young squad!

Steve Lovell has said count me in for the Gills job.

I agree with Elgrande and would add Andy Nelson to his list. I don't care who the new manager is, as long as he can stop us going down and get us moving in the right direction.
