Not exactly a goal scoring machine, he has played for half a dozen clubs mostly on loan, 6 goals in 53 games, thats a goal every what 8 or 9 games, and we have only got him for 5 games,of which two Coventry and Oldham are both very winnable, and Crewe and Walsall should be good for at least a point each, maybe more, then comes Sheffield, OK we will leave that conversation for another day, lol.

A surprising signing with no Manager in place yet.But hopefully John can find his goalscoring boots with us.

well I hope he does well.
I hope he makes me choke on my words............but really what a crock of rubbish. A nothing player that the milwall fans ridicule as he cant shoot.
Apparantly he will work hard, chase the ball down etc etc etc but never score (maybe its actually Sidibe in disguise)

We always seem to get one don't we? A forward on loan that can't score! Mind you Gavin Tomlin was firmly in that camp and we turned him into a goal machine!!!

Funny reading these comments, he has been fantastic. I hope its because he has found somewhere he can play decent football in and not to win a new deal elsewhere only to slip back not play to his potential. If this is how he can play day in day out he is a must sign if that decision is ours to make come the summer (carry on like he does and it won't be)!

Guess being sent out to Gillingham was a bit of a wake up call for the guy, then when he found out from garawawarra he was really playing for Bayern Munich or at least a copy of the aforementioned,he was all happy, lol.
Was he just a bad fit at Millwall or perhaps he was the type that does as little as possible for as much money as possible, but the guys doing great here I would like to see us sign him but think it's unlikely to happen, ungrateful little basket will chase the money, lol, lol.

Millwall's lose is our gain, John Marquis is also 22 so he probably feels that it is now time for him to leave Millwall and play competitive first team at another club.
I saw a interesting tweet from a Gills Fan during The Peterborough United Game that mentioned, that John Marquis has everything Danny Kedwell had (the effort, the commitment, chasing lost causes and putting in a real shift for the team), but John Marquis is cleverer off the ball, he picks up decent positions on the pitch and can score goals from open play - something that usually went against Danny Kedwell.
Also there is the age difference between the two players, John Marquis has the potential to improve and become a better centre forward, where as Danny Kedwell was always going to drop down the pecking order to be a back up / squad player at Gillingham.
But if we want John Marquis to stay at Gillingham Football Club then we may have to pay a premium to sign him on a permanent basis.

It's a pertanant point, he is Kedwell's replacement after all and I felt they were relevant and accurate! Whilst I agree with most of what the person said about comparing the two although I would say Marquis isn't as domineering in a game and not quite the "spilling blood for the cause" type that Kedwell so admirably demonstrated. Kedwell was different to many of the players we have had and I guess Marquis is about as good as replacement as we can get.

Who's PREGNANT, not the love of my life, (well she was until that naughty little minx Mrs L came along ), but I am still fond of her, very fond of Ms Fanny Mulligan ,but trust me it's not mine, I have only got one little blue tablet left and have had for over 6 months, I am keeping that for a very special occasion.
