In the above article Andy Hessenthaler speaks about the selection dilemma the four man coaching set up with Jermaine McGlashan and do we start him or continue to use him as an impact sub, and I thought it be a good idea to create a poll and get the thoughts and opinions of everyone on here on whether you would start Jermaine McGlashan, or keep him on the bench as an impact player ???

It`s a tough one as McGlashan has been really good off the bench, but at some stage we will have to reward him with a start as what is the incentive for Jermaine if these good cameos are never rewarded with starts? Obviously if he doesn`t play as well when he starts then that will be his own fault. But it should be the same for any player,if you do well of the bench there should be a chance to get in the side if you impress.Jermaine`s performances have been better from the bench, but he should get the chance Tonight in a game that we will need to chase at some stage.

With Josh Pritchard, Jake Hessenthaler, Doug Loft and Bradley Dack playing in a diamond midfield formation, I am not sure how Jermaine McGlashan gets into the starting eleven without changing how the entire midfield lines up, against Oldham Athletic on Saturday Jermaine McGlashan and Brennan Dickenson came on for Bradley Garmston and Jake Hessenthaler and we had two wingers on both flanks with Bradley Dack playing behind John Marquis and Cody McDonald once those two substitutions were made.

I will keep Jermaine McGlashan on the bench and bring him on with 20 - 25 minutes remaining, but if McGlashan keeps making an impact from the bench then he is going to have to start eventually.

McGlashan showed last night that he deserved to start, but I think after his knock and all his running yesterday he will be sub on Sunday evening.

Sub, sub, start, sub, sub sounds about right and he couldn't possibly keep up that pace for long. Before yesterday's match he had played 1,131 minutes when starting and the Gills scored 13 goals with him on the pitch, a goal every 87 minutes on average. But when he comes on as sub, he has played 391 sub minutes and we had scored 15 goals!!! A goal every 26.1 minutes on average!! Now that's a stat and says it all really!
