Gillingham have signed Emanuel Osadebe on a one year contract.

It looks like Osadebe will be in the development Team like Elliott List.Good to see we`re signing young hungry players for the future.

Osaebe says it is a dream come true to become a professional Footballer.

OK someone help me out here, we sign a guy to the development squad on a one year deal, pay his salary,feed him,house him and hope maybe some where along the line in say February or March of next year he gets to play a couple of games because someone is injured, then along comes Spurs and take him back at the end of the season ?
We need a development squad, were rich enough to have a development squad ? Why don't we shelve that and pay an extra couple of guys to scout for us and bring in players that don't need developing, I thought our reserves were no longer even playing in a league ?

I don't think he is a loan deal is he? We can give him new deal in 12 months? A bit like a younger John Egan type deal, one for a year or 2's time.

Nope Osadebe signed a year deal,and will be starting off in the development side.He is our player for at least a year.

Reserve Team Football is dead and buried, Gillingham have entered The Final Third Development League (which replaces The Combination League), but these games don't benefit players between the ages of 18 and 21 and the best thing we can do for there development is to send these players out on loan, I still think My Loan Pyramid Suggestion would be a fantastic idea to develop young players, it just might not be possible financially.

That's why we keep hearing talk about Premier League B Teams, because playing competitive first team football is clearly what will enhance player's development as Patrick Vieira is the latest high profile footballer to come out and say that he wants to see a Premier League B Team Playing in The Football League.

I am sure we will see Emanuel Osadebe play in Kent Senior Cup and Football League Trophy matches, and if he progresses and does extremely well for our Development Squad, then Emanuel Osadebe will be given the opportunity to play for Gillingham's First Team.

I think my loan pyramid would be fantastic as well, everyone that goes to a football game any given weekend sends me 50 pence, that's fifty rotten pence you bums, that's not going to kill any of you is it , then by the end of next season I will say thank you everyone, and head for my new 100 acre estate on the beach with the golf course in Tahiti.
As for Patrick V ,tell him we already have a Championship Division, a First and Second division full of players trying to make a living, and trying to make it into the Prem. , we don't care what he thinks, and we don't care if any of the big five or six in the Premiere Division get a second team under a different name playing in a different division, how will that benefit the other 80 odd clubs in the league, it's not like they would even be English players would it ??

Ha ha, Patrick Viera is French so that renders his opinion null and void (joke)!!! Perhaps we should create reserve teams in the French league as it is isn't as strong outside the top flight, enhance it somewhat. That OK with you Mr Viera as it was your idea after all!!!

Osadebe has made good progress in pre-season so far,and Edinburgh hopes he can make the first Team squad sooner than expected.
