Gills sign Al-Abd

Gills have signed the powerful Egypt international defender Adam Al-Abd on loan from Bristol City until the end of the season. This almost certainly looks as if there will be no second coming of Oshilaja despite the promises that he would return in a window that allowed him to be available for any potential play-off push. I was originally surprised given that Cardiff were still selecting him so why would they lend him to us? I guess they were waiting for players to return and with so many defenders out, we couldn't wait any longer.

He looks an experience player in the Adam Barrett mould,hopefully he still has the legs for this level.Could be useful for us.A shame Oshilaja is not coming back now.
