Gills Team Line-ups from seasons past

Morning all, wonder if anyone can help me? I am trying to find a link or publication that contains Gills/New Brompton line-ups player profiles/info in the Southern League (1895 to 1920).

A google search isn't particularly helpful, but I'm sure there must be a publication somewhere that can provide what I need.

Anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Strap, welcome to the board. Unfortunately I had the same problem and the only place I found the information in was in the "Home of the Shouting Men" book, a centenary publication written by Roger Triggs and Andy Bradley. This book is very expensive and when it comes available often sells for £200 odd. There is one on Ebay now: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Book-Home-of- ... SwEeFU53N3

Good luck.

If s/he's like me because you like to know the history of the club and when things last happened etc but the Southern League years are a complete mystery. The book is the only solution however even that has a lot of inaccuracies in it and it has taken me 7 years to get up to the 60s of our history after spending a long time researching and using elimination to find the missing information or correcting the bits that were wrong!

OK thanks, don't completely get it but thats me not you , I don't quite understand why it matters if Harry Burnham played left back in the 1927/28 season but I guess there are ten people OK 3 people in the world that might want to know ?
Now please tell me why Oxford Utd are like 5-1 top five favorites to go up from Division One and the mighty Gills with an iron wall in midfield consisting of 8 players, and a team that lead the league for 157 weeks last season are being shown as 25/1 to get promoted, another wonderful season coming up by the looks of it.
For Mr Lidbit ONLY. Dear Sir, we are playing Oxford away on the 22nd of November, I will be sure to send a google map of the directions for you and watch the soccer station on our TV until approx 4 pm on that day which I think is about the time you are due to leave to ensure the game has not been cancelled, NO NO please don't thank me, just a little something extra I feel I can do for you now your ONE OF THEM. Love to Mrs L , and by the way us people who were not there are still waiting to see the pix of the booze up you guys all had, what happened someone forgot to get the film developed at Boots ?

Did you see Channel 5's League 1 predictions at the start of last season. They had Crewe and some other obscure team going up automatically. Think that set the tone for that programme went for the season!

No we don't get anything except Premier League and Championship footie on game day from England, I was looking at Paddy Powers and some of the other betting sites, they all like Oxford as promotion contenders and Gillingham as middle of the pack which is rather disappointing.

Thank you Gillsfan for your continued care to my family and me. It is heartwarming to know there is someone, metaphorically speaking, standing over me making sure I am safe. There is one thing that would advance the support you so kindly offer and that would be a large envelope full of thousand dollar bills sent to me here in little old impoverished England. Now that we are leaving the benevolent support of our EU friends, I am feeling more vulnerable than usual and have even started to think about hiring out Mrs Lidbid or selling her hair on a weekly basis to try to make ends meet. When you rely on a pension that is shrinking rapidly due to the sinking of the pound, every handful of gruel has to be struggled for. Therefore, as I know you feel so compassionate towards Mrs L and me I am sure you will not want to see us suffer and that you will send said envelope by return. After all, it is only a matter of days now before I have to find the money for my pre match pint, my half time coffee and my post match pie and chips. I look forward to hearing from you,
Best Wishes,
Lidbid.

Arrived late at the party again, so I can't help you with your question but this may be of interest to others who haven't found the site yet.

Came across that the other day! Any idea who found all the stuff on it to compile all that as there is stuff (especially on the You Tube channel) I don't think the club has ever posted!
