What's the matter with Dack?

At the end of 2015 Dack was being touted with all sorts of clubs and was scoring for fun. He was able to turn defenders on their heels and curl in goals from both sides of the box. Since last new year however he has been very subdued and although he has contended with some minor injuries, we have set up our playing system to utilise him in the role that suits him best without seeing much outcome. So what do we think the reasons are, I think its one of these but I can't pinpoint which one:

1. The talk of being the best player in League 1 and high transfer fee talk was a distraction that he has struggled to escape from.
2. Teams have worked out what his strengths are and can now defend against him more effectively.
3. The Gills dip in form meant he was unable to get into the same groove as before.
4. Transfer talk and minor injuries caused his form to drop which then saw the Gills also drop in form as a team.
5. It was a period of extreme confidence that saw his form peak to a height he would be unlikely to replicate (ala Pope at Port Vale).

It could be a bit of all five options, but then many fans have been saying Dack looks good when they have seen him.I think he has lost confidence like the whole Team has,and we have to hope that he will rediscover that confidence.Me and FOM saw Dack after the last game of the season, and he said he was definitely off hence him staying on the pitch for 35 minutes after the game signing autographs etc.I think he had in his mind he was gone, and it has affected him.The club need Dack to be firing as we wanted £3m,and with just a year left we would struggle to get £1m at the moment.I think he is still a good player, but needs to forget about the move that didn`t happen. If he finishes the season really well then there will be interest again.
