Paul Konchesky off????

Supposedly Paul Konchesky has signed for Braintree Town who are picking up some names for that level. He can't buy a game at the moment and it is thought that he might trigger a year extension to his contract if he reaches 30 appearances (he is on 29). If true I'm guessing he can't play for another full-time club as it's outside the transfer window and that he will not be offered an extension in the summer so would have no option but to play for a part-time side or stay at Gills and lose fitness and hope for the best in the summer?
If so it's a sad way to bring a good career to an end - to think he was at champions Leicester last season. Incredible. I thought he was no where near his best but still had moments of class. I guess, on his wages, it was a luxury we couldn't really afford. With all these decisions being made either the chairman is setting out his stall for next season after a decent investment in the squad this season, he's clearing the decks for the new manager in the summer or Pennock has been given the nod and is staring to shape his squad for the next campaign.

Lovely post ,I agree with every thing you have said, eerrr I think . Can I ask what you drink before you sit down at the old keyboard , I have often wondered what colored Kool-Aid it is , lol ??
He never played for Leicester City's first team last year, he was on loan to QPR, and strangely enough last time he DID play for Leicester he only played 29 games in the 2014/15 season, wwwhhoooooo SPOOKY.
I can understand Gillingham not wanting him next year, he will be about 73 years old and the new manager who comes in during the summer will want his "own team ",so it will be out with the old and in with the new.......................AGAIN.

He was contracted to and an employee of Leicester last season even if out on loan. Had they not felt they might need him they would have let him go the summer before. Point is valid in my book.

Was he there on the field for the final day of the season, NNNNNNOOOOOOOO, did he ride in the open top bus in the parade..........NNNNNOOOOOO, did he because he helped his team win the title get home the day they clinched to be greeted by his wife in her sexiest nightwear saying take me , take me, my conquering hero ........NNNNNNNOOO and how do I know, because my mate was at Konchesky's PIE AND MASH SHOP and his wife was there with his old Mum dishing up food to the starving millions of Essex. SSSOOOO point NOT valid in my book bbbbllllllltttttthhhhhhhhhhhh.

Seems the rumour was correct then although mis-read BTFC to be Braintree Town as a move to a Conference Premier club would be as high as he could go outside of a transfer window. In fact the club was Billericay Town, 10th in the Ryman Isthmian League, and at tier 7 that has to be a shock surely regardless of whatever multi-millionaire is in charge. The article says the new owner is happy at putting in £10k a week but I can see Konchesky taking up virtually half that on his own!

10k a week, my keyboard doesn't have a pound sign on it, that's mind boggling. That's probably more than the Burnley players get. I retired too early. I was ok in the Maidstone and district league.

I'm pretty sure other players will be taking up that £10k but still, it's a hefty chunk!
