Gills sign Steve Arnold

Postby Garawa » Thu Aug 17, 2017 2:12 pm

The former Dover keeper comes in on a 1 year deal. Ok, this one stumps me, it really does. Clearly AP knows him from Forest Green but, for a goal-keeper, his appearance figures are not great and the clubs he played for are Grays, Hayes & Yeading, Stevenage, Forest Green and Dover.

The ONLY thing I can think of is that we were in the market for a half-decent keeper who was happy to sit on the bench as we need to up our investment in Holy, something perhaps that was deemed unfair on Nelson so was allowed to leave. But what if he doesn't? Are we really going to pay Nelson to sit at home whilst we allow someone else to take his job? Maybe I have it all wrong and this is best for Stuart but if it isn't what I think above then it's both incredibly cruel and daft all in one!

It's typical Scally,do everything on the cheap, Nelson isn't wanted by anyone else and instead of Scally and Pillock going to Spurs or West Ham and saying give me a keep on loan we go get a guy who's career peaked at to Dover, that sums up Gillingham under Scallwags time as owner,do every thing on the cheap, the 5,000 / 6,000 will turn up week in week out, so why does he care ??

Hey come on it was dam close today,we only lost by like 1 goal, and Pillock was confused by the refs decision, and we missed a penalty, I mean we must at least get half a point for that don't we ?
It would be such a shame if after 3 games ,(or maybe 4 if you count the Red OX Cup game against Reading) we still had not won a game, jeezzz that would mean we would be on the verge of relegation ,like EIGHT POINTS adrift of an Automatic Promotion spot after only three games and that sure as hell couldn't happen after we got 750,000 quid for selling a player in the summer,or perhaps the check has not cleared yet ??
This could be the last year that Gillingham is the only Kent based Team playing in the Football League, Bromley just a point off the top place and Dover just a point behind, wwwooow hhhoooo, just think ,this time next year we could have some REAL Local rivalry's in Division FOUR.
Just reading the headlines, GILLS LADYS are back playing at the Priestfield quick you 72 people who know someone playing on that team ,run and get tickets that might sell out the toilet stalls this week and you won't have anywhere to sit.
SSSSSOOOO who has the MIGHTY,MIGHTY BIG BLUE MACHINE GOT TO PLAY next time, wwwooow hhoooo SARF END. Jeezzz there piss pore, especially away from home they can't score ,look there GF ....0 / GA........5, lets make a deal Scallywag if we lose this one against SARF END the Pillock gets the chop, OK??
Come on your an expert at this ,what can you say ..............I know,I know he was making advances against your old lady after the MK Dons game, you haven't used that one before have you , jjeezzzz after that he had to go, proved he was a blind as a bat.
The night they turned the flood lights on was one of the most exciting days in the world of sport I have ever known, I was hooked,I will be a Gills fan until the day I die, but my time is quickly running out, hell I am older than ole Lidbit and man is he old,(beautiful wife though) , haha, and never once in over 50 years have Gillingham even sniffed at the BIG CALHOUN, never once sniffed at playing Man Utd in the cup, never once ,not even for one fleeting moment ever looked like doing a Brighton or a Bournmouth, and it makes me sad.
GILLINGHAM 5-O Preston we were top of the Championship Division, I read that on the back of a Sunday newspaper I found blowing along the streets of Bangkok Thailand, happy, happy , FING HAPPY, hell I was delirious, even tipped the hooker that day an extra five bucks for my morning rub down, TOP,TOP of the division that was only one step below the greatest football division in the world, .........thanks Scally, thanks for bursting that bubble once and for all..

Quite a surprising signing, but we currently have 4 goalkeepers.Nelson rightly wants to stay where he loves so may look to wait if he is needed.Hadler going out on loan will do him good.
