Gillingham will play Forest Green Rovers in the second round of the FA Youth Cup at MEMS Priestfield Stadium on Tuesday November 18.

Kick-Off at ME7 is set for 7pm.

Gillingham under-18s beat Forest Green Rovers on penalties at Priestfield to book their place in round three of the FA Youth Cup.

The second round tie finished 2-2 after extra-time, and after goalkeeper Fletcher Hegarty saved Rovers’ first two kicks in the shootout, it was left for Zac Whitelock to convert the decisive penalty and send the Gills through.

Zak Whitelock scored the decisive penalty kick as Gillingham edged past Forest Green to book their place in the third round of the FA Youth Cup at MEMS Priestfield Stadium on Tuesday night.

The visitors took an early lead, only for Michael Luxton to draw the Gills level after a superb effort into the bottom corner. Sullivan Booth gave the hosts the lead with an excellent individual effort, but Billy Glover ensured the game went the distance when his shot across Fletcher Hegarty crept into the back of the net.

Extra time came and went without significant incident, forcing penalties. Fletcher Hegarty was the hero between the sticks, making two saves, with Whitelock holding his nerve to book Gills a place in the next round.
