Di Canio was always a silly appointment for Sunderland. It was surprising that after Di Canio left Swindon in League one,he jumped straight to the prem.To be fair to him he kept them up,but if you don`t believe in his style etc why did the Sunderland board give him millions to spend? They should have gone for Di Matteo in my opinion when they sacked O`Neill last season.

Unfortunately if we lose on Saturday I can see Allen going as that would be another defeat and we would remain rock bottom.

Think he will get three or four more chances if we loose, then he be gone, probably go to Aldershot or Northampton someone like that, wallowing in the Division 2 basement, take the four transfer listed players with him, get promotion and come back to haunt us next year, lol.
I still have faith in him, I don't think he forgot how to coach over the summer, think we are as good as most of the teams in the bottom half of the table, just need a win to get us started then we will be fine.

I don't particularly blame Allen, I think he's being asked to survive in League 1 with a league 2 squad of players.

Understand what you are saying, but people were talking about how we had a Division 1 squad last year and lets be serious we came up as CHAMPIONS which surely must make us as good as the teams in the bottom half of the 1st Division ?

Some people were it's true although I wasn't among them. Results suggest otherwise and we have nothing in the squad, outside the current team selection, that looks likely to change things.
We seem to have administered a large dose of demotivation by transfer listing four midfielders, the area where I would suggest most of our problems lie. I don't believe this is Allen's initiative.

We just didnt support Allen in the transfer market. I cannot see any other reason why he would have thought that gregory, and german were good enough.

However MA has to take some responsibility for thinking his son is anything better than a ball boy, or an average player in div 2, no where near a div 1 player.

We sold our best player in Payne, and now we are transfer listing 2 more of our better players in whelpdale and Lee. Maybe if we played them in the right positions they
would play to their potential. Lee has one MOM a couple of times this season and yet he is on the list. Is this MA or is this scally wanting rid of the salary.

We needed to buy 3 or 4 players that improved the squad, we brought 4 that did not improve it at all.

Lets just hope we can pull a win out of the bag and get some confidence back and start gaining some points
