Report from Shrewsbury

Got a call from from a family member who now lives in Kidderminster and who went and saw the Gills for the first time this season. He normally goes to a dozen or so home games and away games in the midlands , but he said the Gills seemed clueless, and apart from Lee and Kedwell coming close we allowed Shrewsbury to come forward all the time and hardly looked like picking up a point, let alone three , and this was against one of the worst teams in the division ???
Anyone, anyone, please tell me he was exaggerating??

My mate at the game wasn`t impressed, listening to the game the only chance I remember was when Kedwell hit the post.I said at half-time the next goal was important, and we didn`t get it.I feel disappointed as I thought we could get something from the game. But Atleast we have two home games now, hopefully we can get 4-6 points from them.

We seem either fantastic or appalling, nothing in between this season. Martin Allen said the wins were down to going back to basics, asking the players and staff what we should do differently, so not sure why we suddenly capitulated again.
Perhaps we should blame the strip. If I remember correctly, the last time we had to cobble together some odd concoction involving the third strip was the last time we were away to Shrewsbury, where the indignity of wearing entirely pink caused the players to simply hand over a 2-0 win to the Shrews. And I thought lightening nevers strikes twice!

What was the deal with the strip, didn't we take one ? I remember one time we went to Millwall and used their 3rd team green strip I think it was we won handily.
I hate to think this way but I have a feeling that maybe MA has not got 100% backing of the players, I hope I am wrong, how can we play so badly against a team like Shrewsbury, no mid week games, six days to get ready, yet we appear to turn up completely unprepared.
Notts County , PNE, Port Vale, surely we can pick up at least a win and a draw and a ? from those three games .

The trouble is all 3 kits have blue in them!!! The old kit we went back to had an all-black third strip but we ditched that, kept the blue and pink as third choice and last season's red and blue as the away strip. The referee judged (as he did 3 years ago) both strips clashed so we wore the pink but with pink shorts and socks instead, only the second time we have had to do it both times away to Shrewsbury!

Watched Everton play Man City last week both teams played in blue, yes I know two different shades of blue, but both in blue, seemed a bit strange but I guess anything to sell shirts.
