Can't believe this but we drove down from Warrington to Stafford this morning to see my wife's sister. At the pub tonight I was told that the Gills were playing Port Vale tomorrow and that it's only 20 minutes down the road. So I'm up for my second game. Looking at the last post, I agree with Garawa, I was quite impressed with Kedwell up front but Cody was quite ordinary. Personally, I'd have Weston and German in the team after the Preston game. Hope to see some fans in the gills section.

Sorry, I've only just seen your reply. A quick sum up. I thought it was a better game than the PNE match. We looked really sharp for the first 5 mins, then Port vale got on top and had at least 3 half chances. Then against the run of play, we got a goal. The rest of the half was reasonably even. I thought Weston was one of our best with Kedwell. Both looked sharp. Linganzi also looked good.He can certainly get up high for his headers. The back line however, just looks too slow. The Vale seem to slice through too easily. I'm not convinced with the two full backs and as hard as Legge and Barrett worked, they're not the quickest. They scored almost from the kick-off in the second half and always looked dangerous. After their second, Cody and German came on, a good move, the Gills lifted and became the better team again and possibly deserved at least a point or even three. Things have definitely improved and I think there's hope, but only in the relegation battle, nothing higher. I suggest looking for some quicker defenders might be a good place to start.

Thank you for that Noircat, I'd love to catch up with you. However, we're leaving Stafford tomorrow for Devon. We're then having a trip around Europe before coming back for about a week before returning to Australia on Dec 6th. If it is at all possible, I'd love to get one more game in. You realise of course that I'm a bad omen, two games, two 2-1 losses.

Or the Gills happen to be losing just about every game just lately! Mind you, you were mightily close with Notts County!! If you do get a game in and it is short notice, send a private message on here and I will see it and can let Noircat know.
