apparently he's allowed to play in the FA Cup Saturday. Looks as if could be a good acquisition. He is a southern lad and has played under Taylor and Martin Allan.Doesn't seem to have settled up north so hopefully he'll be good for us. It seems as if he's a mid field play maker.

Contrasting messages coming out so far. Preston fans apparently happy but Stevenage fans seem to really like him. Players we have had recently that just haven't settled at their parent club seem to come to us and do really well (Forecast excluded - he barely played!) so fingers crossed he gets the midfield that has started to show promise recently ticking again.

love your optimism garawa he might be what we need. But please explain when the midfield started showing promise?. Was it when we had to drop Kedwell in there because we couldn't contain county?. Or when we struggled to overcome a very poor Carlisle?

I believe the 2 and 3 in midfield has looked more dangerous in Peter Taylor's time than it did for the entirety of Martin Allen's time in League 1 this season. Unfortunately by that time Cody had completely gone off the boil to make the most of it and that is the main issue. We are relying too much on Kedwell as the out and out striker and to his credit he is doing more than alright but really would be better used as the second striker and use his strength further back.
Whelpdale offered zilch under Allen having been asked to hold a narrow midfield. Suddenly he has started to look like the player before Martin Allen came. Weston too has looked more effective then he has done before. Both have got forward and tried to get balls into the box, I don't recall a lot of that since the season began. My query is I don't think Hollands and Gregory are particularly inspiring together so hopefully Mousinho might offer something a bit different as we rely on Lee too much there.
Carlisle the whole team failed to get going at all but the midfield did push forward at times when before they would stay solid and watch balls fly over their heads! Notts County had dangerous players that can tear defenses to shreds, more threatening than Whelps and Weston and they tried to win the game that way. We were lucky they were on such a bad run that they just knew that they would concede and it won us the match in the end but at least Lee, Whelps and Weston are pushing up to give us a presence. If Taylor stays that should get more fluid and improve.

Could be a good move for us. I thought the midfield looked reasonable at Port Vale, Whelpdale in particular, infact, going forward we didn't look bad. For me it is the centre of defence that needs sorting out.

Some mixed views around the internet, but Mousinho has experience and did well for Taylor at Wycombe.I expect if he does well it could become permanent at some stage with Preston allowing him to play for us in the FA Cup.Hollands has not been given permission by Charlton to play.
