With the Christmas period out of the way,we travel to Colchester off the back of an excellent home win over Wolves.Confidence should be high after the clean sheet and performance on Friday Night,and I`m hopeful we can come away from Colchester with atleast a point.We played Colchester on the opening day of the season,and they looked a decent side and I expected them to be doing better than they`re.A point seperates us and Colchester at the moment.

Team: I think Taylor may name the same Team that beat Wolves,but I would start Dack who impressed when he came on.New loan signings Marriott,Hewitt,and Smith should be on the bench.Kedwell is likely to partner McDonald

Seem to recall Colchester were one of the teams picked by the "experts" to be relegated from Division 1 this year, lets hope we can help them continue on the slippery slope towards Division 2 this weekend. Nice away win would set us up for the " easiest part " of our remaining schedule, 5 of the next 8 we play teams below us, after that it all gets a bit tough.

I listened to the game,and we did sound poor.No shot on target until the last few minutes,which I could hear was greeted with cheers by our fans.How come we could play really well against Wolves,but roll over against Colchester? I suppose it is typical Gills beating the best,and losing to poorer Teams,but we have beaten most of the sides around us this season.I think it`s not the result that frustrates us,but the manner of the defeat.No real chances in the game.I feel sorry for the 936 fans that made the journey.Hopefully this is just a one off performance,as we have Swindon up next.

WHAT THE &&&& ? Colchester has 24 shots , 9 on goal, and GFC have 2 shots all %$#&^%& match. This is totally crazy . One of Colchester's goal scorers has not scored since 2012 and another other had not scored in 52 games, until today.
Less than 4500 turn up to watch, well done the 1000 hardy GFC supporters who went, well done indeed for not running on the pitch and strangling the Gills players and management at the end of another &^*$@#& pathetic display.

Ok so after the walsall game I said we were rubbish and we had no idea of how to keep the ball and we couldnt afford to let other teams have that much possession.

I was informed this was in part tactics as walsall like to play with the ball. Well this is now the 3rd game in a row where we are conceding over 60 percent possession. I thnk the wolves game is hiding the flaws.

The stats for the colchester game are terrible. Cannot win a game if you dont have the ball

Have to say the amount of possession we are conceding is a MASSIVE concern, why it has dropped so much so rapidly I don't know. We will be in big trouble if we carry on like that especially to sides around or below us in the table.

However! I think all 3 games are very different. Walsall play the ball A LOT. They were happy to just tap it about the back 4 all afternoon. Whilst the had huge possession figures, they did virtually nothing with and was the reason it was very disappointing to fall behind. Wolves were more attacking with their possession and the quality of players meant it was probably expected but we worked much harder off the ball and took our chances when they didn't. Colchester, low on confidence, well.......we simply just handed the game on a plate and didn't sound as if we were remotely interested.

So yes the figures of 36, 35 and 32% is a worry but all 3 were very different. I don't think we will have more in any game all season but we need to pick up and make the most of when we play well. We would have been better off losing 3-0 to Wolves and winning 1-0 at Colchester. What a waste.
