Enthralling World Cup so far.....!

What a WC its been so far. Normally we get a load of sterile matches but most have been really going full pelt! Not sure whether that has to do with goal difference or not as the head to head rule meant you just didn't want to lose the game whereas now goals can really make a massive difference. Spain going so feebly must be the biggest surprise in many tournaments and to lose 3 sides less than 24 hours after South Korea and Russia entered it was up there as well.
There have been 60 goals scored in the 20 games played so far (3 per match). League 1 last season saw 2.67 per game and if it averaged 3 per game, an extra 183 goals would have been scored.
6 of the 20 matches have saw the victorious side come from back from a losing position. The Gills have overturned 6 deficits over the last 181 games.
Lets hope England don't spoil the party this evening!

I agree it's been a crazy World Cup so far, loved every second of it apart from England's final score against Italy. I have England down for a draw today on my pool BUT I have got a gut feeling were going to win this 2-1, just feel it in me water, adios Uruguay, hello second round?
Only real criticism I have is the TV production on ESPN, every time a ball goes out of bounds or there is a free kick they spin on the TV screen this dam picture of a football resting on a yellow hand, I guess it is and then show a replay of not the foul or the incident that's happening this second but something that happened previously, normally a goal and you look up and think someone has scored, pretty confusing for a second or two if your not watching every second of the game.
Only other complaint I have is Macca, God Steve McManaman is so annoying doing the color commentary, 12 minutes into the Brazil / Croatia game he was saying Brazil could go out in the first round and how badly there playing ,scoring an own goal it's the end of the World as we know it lol, 12 minutes into the first game, good grief give me a break.
Anyway two hours to Colombia/Ivory Coast, I will watch that in the office, and 4 hours before I head for the bar and watch an ENGLAND win, GO ENGLAND, time to throw caution to the wind and play like we know you can. PS, Mr. Hodgson play an extra man in the middle at the back just to keep me happy please, thanks.

Yeah it has been an entertaining World Cup so far, lots of surprises, goals, poor defending, and poor keepers

.Spain going out is the biggest surprise, the current World Cup,and European Champions. Its amazing how quick the Team has declined, but they do have some good players coming through so could be stronger for Euro 2016.

Just wanted him to play one more guy at the back, what I call a center half, then we would have been fine, defending today was rubbish, again.

I dont think anyone saw that Germany 7-1 win over Brazil happening. It was hard to believe what we were seeing as each goal went in.Brazil`s defending was Sunday League standard, and Germany showed people that Brazil are average at the moment.

Your not kidding I had them down to win it all , but dam Germany looked good ,lol.
So now we have Germany against Argentina on Sunday, think I can see Germany winning this one as well, I almost feel sorry for Holland and Brazil having to play for a third place finish, bet both teams just wish they were on their way to anywhere other than another game. Winning this kind of makes you the tallest midget in the room.

Ha ha
Not sure I have seen 4 goals in 6 minutes. You got the impression that Brazil at 2 down went more offensive so when Germany came back at them the defence had no answer at all. A lot was made of the Brazil side "not being the best" but Neymar is a massive player. Two of the defenders play for the 2 best sides in Europe whilst Luiz has earned a big money move away and was having a great tournament supposedly before-hand so what changed?
Germany were at the top of their game. I don't see a lot of difference between them and us player-wise or top flight league-wise. The only difference is they play as a team (they don't make many changes as this was virtually the same side as 4 years ago) and they WANT to play. And I bet they played more matches this season too!
