Sad to hear of the passing of Alfredo Di Stefano after many years of heart problems at the good age of 88. He was one of the all time greats when players copped tackles from all directions and when a tap on the shoulder didn't make your legs disappear from under you. I can remember watching him in the Eintracht game in Scotland on tv, when he scored his hat trick and Puskas got 4, and most of the other Real Madrid finals of those days. It appears from all reports that he was an absolute gentleman as well. I wonder how many of the very best players of today will have that said about them.

I wonder how many of today's players my children will look back on fondly when they pass? I can't see many getting the same sort of accolades as players of the 50s, 60s and 70s do now.
