Talented lad but the situation with his contract sums up everything that is wrong with our national sport.

Yeah most people his age would bite Liverpool`s hands off for the sort of money he has been offered, and to play for a club like Liverpool.Sterling says he is not greedy, but he seems to be holding out for more money.

I get the feeling he is a bit of a prima donna anyway, expect him to go totally off the rails anytime soon! Too tired to play for England, wants to play for a bigger club than Liverpool. He does realise he is really only had one season doesn't he? Shouldn't he have won the world cup by now? Rimshot is right, the love of the game ranks WELL down the pecking order.

Even if Raheem Sterling wants to win trophies and it isn't about the money, the days of Manchester United and Liverpool dominating the league for over a decade is long gone, Manchester City could win the league next season, Manchester United the season after that and Arsenal the season after that, no-one is going to dominate English Domestic Football in the same-way that Celtic dominate Scotland, Bayern Munich always win The Bundesliga and Ajax dominate The Eredivisie.

Steven Gerrard has never won The Premier League, but Steven Gerrard has won The Champions League once, The FA Cup twice, The League Cup Three Times, The UEFA Cup once, The UEFA Super Cup twice and The Community Shield once, some players don't even get the luxury of getting half the level of success Steven Gerrard has had during his career.

I think Raheem Sterling should sign a new contract with Liverpool, and if Liverpool have not won anything in three years and Raheem Sterling has put in this season's performances over the next three season's, then Raheem Sterling is entitled to move on to a bigger club who have more of a chance of winning silverwear, Sterling is 20, he has plenty of time on his side to win league title's and win domestic cup competitions, if this is not achievable with Liverpool then Raheem Sterling can move to a club who can win title's and cup competitions.

Saying he should play for Liverpool for 3 years is totally ridiculous, he is going to do what most of us would do if we had his God given talent,go to the highest bidder and get paid today, broken leg middle of next season might mean no payday for the rest of your life from footie, and I don't think a milk mans salary is the same as a Manchester United, football player do you??
FA's fault for not having a salary cap that clubs can pay players.

Sterling is playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world,it`s not like he is on a minimum wage and not playing. If it is £180,000 a week how can you turn that down, especially when a few years back the best player in the world was on that.
