Great win for England today against Luton Town, (it says on my TV ENG 2-0 LTU )even though they packed their defence we went on to kick the 117th country in the World Football Rankings FANNYS all over the pitch 2-0, way to go England.

Lol, I swear just about everything about that game drove me nuts, why the hell do we have to be inside the penalty box to kick the dam thing at the goal, we could have taken 50 shots from outside the box and scored with three of them, but no, we fairy ass around doing this mamby pamby passing and getting no where thing, working up the field to deep in Lutons half , then back passing halfway back to our keeper. Where was the Jimmy Greaves of today, someone that can run at the defence and get fouled either in or just outside of the box , guess we don't have one of them ??
Then to cap it all the commentator on our TV station, at like the 85th minute mark when they show a picture of some young fan ( with a very pretty Mom ) who I would guess was around ten (the fan not his Mom ) and had two scarves round his neck, one blue with Chelsea written on it, and the other a yellow and green one , and the commentator said something along the lines of " theres a young man who won't forget this day in a hurry, seeing his heroes Dele Alli and Jermain Defoe playing for England .
Dear Mr Commentator you have watched this game for almost 90 minutes and you did NOT notice that Luton were playing in yellow and green the SAME color as the kids scarf ??

They did what they had to and won, if only Gills could play the same boring crap and win I would be a happy man.

But they don't win against the "good teams" playing that type of football in the World Cup, and my bet is that in Russia once we play the first round against the likes of South Korea, Peru and Italy, our next game in the round of 16 will be against the likes of France or Argentina and that boring football we played yesterday will mean sayounara England , AGAIN.
Two nil up with 25 minutes to go gave us the opportunity to GO FOR IT, score some goals ,let the team run riot and have some fun.

No but maybe later this year I will get to see a couple of games or more . Since her at home passed away from the big C in October it's getting kind of lonely out here, and maybe the golf courses of Kent are calling, and the chance to sit with Mrs.L and watch you bang out another century in the Dover sunshine with a couple of bottles of chilled white between us is really looking very appealing. Maybe time for me to take a few weeks vacation, they owe me a few months let alone a few weeks, lol.

It would be great; if a little weird, to finally meet you. But I'm keeping you well away from Mrs L, that's for sure!

Sorry to hear of your loss Gillsfan. This board does have a habit of introducing "old" new faces just like Doug (Bunbury) a few years ago. Would be surreal meeting you. Come down in May for the presentation evening - that way you won't have to watch any Gills games!!!

I guess they will play on the Friday or Saturday and then the Monday (Boxing day,) or the Tuesday, then the same the following weekend, so I could get two home games and hopefully a local away game in, plus have Christmas at "home" ?? On the other hand I could just go to Aruba and get the score on the compute fro the BBC, lol.

Hi, well she wouldn't have wanted me to sit at home brooding , it just seems so unfair, like the Gods sit on a cloud roll the dice and say you, you, him, her, and watching those little ones up there wwwooowww how those kids and those parents go through that I have no idea. I guess were slowly going to conquer it, or at least catch most of it early, I sure hope so. Sorry to hear that, hope you are doing OK now.
