The 0-1 defeat by Harrogate not only ended 23 games without defeat in all competitions but it was also the first time the Gills had failed to score since March. They had previously scored in 20 consecutive league and cup matches, scoring 30 goals in the process and conceding 15.

They did not have a positive cumulative goal difference from game 14 last season, game 15 in 23/4, game 3 in 22/3 or at all in 21/2. The Gills have not enjoyed such a high difference since May 2016.
