The Colchester draw equalled the Gills' club record for consecutive league and cup home games without a win in an EFL season (set in January 2022). It made it 8 home league games without a win for the first time since 2nd September 1961 and 1 more would equal the club record in any season.
Sunday 4th
The defeat to Swindon was only the Gills 3rd New Year's Day loss in 20 matches (played over 41 seasons). 11 of those matches were wins and the 3 defeats all came away from home.
Monday 5th
Of the 15 home league & cup games this season, 7 have ended in draws, twice the Gills historical average of 25.5% of all home results. 5 of the 7 draws have ended 1-1 and only 1 of the previous 17 seasons saw more home draws by that scoreline (and with 11 games still to play).
Tuesday 6th
This season and the 2 previous ones saw the Gills with points totals between 18 and 21 points after 9 games but the most points earned in the subsequent 15 has been 17.
