- The Gills drew at the Bescot last season, ending a sequence of 3 consecutive defeats there since their last win away at Walsall - a 1-0 win back in November 2017.
- Walsall began the season with 17 league and cup wins from their opening 29 matches and they have followed that up with 4 wins from the 20 played since. The Gills started the season with 7 wins in their opening 11 games in all competitions and have followed them with 5 wins from the 33 since.
- Walsall are unbeaten in their last 2 home league games, winning their previous home game following 8 (including 5 blank sheets) without one. They had lost 4 in a row at home before the recent 2 unbeaten matches. Walsall have won 3 and lost 7 of their previous 14 home league games.

[Fri 3rd April 2026] EFL Sky Bet League 2: Walsall v Gillingham FC

Attendance:

(15:01) Kick Off [ 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 ]
(15.13) From a Clark corner, Khumbeni heads onto the ground and the bounce to the top corner has to be tipped over at full stretch. From the second corner, a ferocious low driven shot from distance by Clark is well blocked otherwise the 'keeper would have likely struggled to keep it out.
(15.21) GOAL! Walsall 1-0 Gillingham: Loupalo-Bi
(15.46) 3 minutes will be added.
(15.48) A little stab ball forward for Loupalo-Bi directly in front should enable a tap home but Morris is quickly out to gather at his feet.
(15.49) Half time [47:59]

(16.06) The second half kicks off.
(16.07) Right on the goalline, Andy Smith blocks a half chance and with bodies right in front of him, he can't clear the ball away. The whistle blows for a foul on Morris.
(16.09) Morris palms away a long range driven shot and its put behind for a corner just as a Walsall player was attempting to slot home the rebound.
(16.11) GOAL! Walsall 1-1 Gillingham: Hale
(16.24) GOAL! Walsall 1-2 Gillingham: Palmer-Houlden
(16.27) GOAL! Walsall 2-2 Gillingham: Kanu
(16.51) Hutton, Dack and Smith create some goalmouth scrambles on the edge of the 6 yard box that Walsall desperately clear away.
(16.51) The 4th official indicates a minimum of 6 minutes to be added.
(16.55) A Gale handball about 24 yards out gives the host a direct free kick which Adomah powers narrowly wide of the left post.
(16.57) FULL TIME 2-2 [99:25]
