Seems we tried to sign him for 60,grand when he went to Cheltenham . He refused to sign a new contract there does that mean we get him for free ? Just wish we could pick up some players coming down from Championship not coming up from the second, and Scally GOAL SCORERS please don't forget them ?

1066 - agree with you but would quote Sir Brian of Clough

Can't see for the life of me what Hess is going to add to the club apart from an increased salary bill. Surely this 'budget' should have been added to the player pot.

Hi Rimshot

we recently got rid of 2 members of staff, so I am guessing he is taking their salary.

So what does everyone think? Another Myles Weston, or something different?

I think you've been following the Gills long enough by now Mark to know the very last people to announce will be the club! We are usually the players final stop before finally signing and until they do they are not our news to announce! I dare say there will be a few more in the next weeks as well.

From what I have seen of McGlashan he looks exciting, and has lots of pace.Going from what the Cheltenham fans have said when he plays well he is unplayable, but that is not often enough.Hopefully Taylor can get McGlashan playing more consistently.

Gills,Wimbledon, and Luton have all reached an agreement with Dulwich Hamlet for Playmaker/Winger Erhun Oztumer. He scored 33 goals in the Ryman League this season, and its up to him which Team he chooses now.

That's interesting. We must be the more interesting prospect but I guess it would be more about how often they might play.

As for McGlashan I'm kind of getting the same vibes as Myles Weston. He too was unplayable at times in League 2 but found the jump to League 1 big enough to negate some of style. I hope the same doesn't happen here otherwise why let Weston go. I presume Whelpdale has yet to announce whether he is signing his contract or leaving us?

Yeah like he would choose Luton or the Wombles, over Mighty Gillingham It will only take Hessy an hour to drive him round the sights of Gillingham, tell him about the new stadium were going to build and how the Hess myster himself will be in charge of the team by Christmas if were not in the top 10 for him to be signing that contract on the dash as they drive down Canterbury Street stopping at the KFC for lunch.
Lets hope it's not to much of a stretch coming from the basement to the mighty heights of Division One which is where the Gills will be in a couple of months, 25 goals from the lad will suite me fine,(by Christmas and another 20 by the end of season). GO GILLINGHAM, keep the signings coming, maybe Scally is serious after all about promotion.

Port Vale's Doug Loft signs then for the Gills after turning down a new deal at the Valiants. Quite a positive signing I think although it will annoy a number of fans as he was free and a former non-league player!! :-P

Loft is a very good signing, and the majority of their fans are gutted he has left.He scored 9 goals this season, and he is versatile.Erhun Oztumer signed for Peterborough after they came in for him at the last minute. To be fair they have a great record with young non league talent,so you can see why he has gone to Peterborough.
