EDINBURGH SACKED

Postby Garawa » Tue Jan 03, 2017 10:40 am

Justin Edinburgh has been sacked by the club this morning. Things were starting to look up. 3 wins in a row at home with only 1 goal conceded in over 3 full games at Priestfield and a creditable draw at Peterborough! The Oxford result has undone all that!

What are the odds on Steve Cotterill now?!

I hoped this wasn't going to be another protracted affair with the new manager needing the transfer window to repair any problems to the side. Seems Mr Scally will act quickly not just with the sacking but also the replacement:

Mr Scally was working on ideas for a new management regime on Monday night and into the early hours of this morning. He said: “I have a concept in my head that I was working on last night and will be doing that some more today. I don’t intend to go into a huge interviewing process, that’s for sure. I have asked our other coaching staff to take training today. After talking to the players I will start to put into place news on how we should go for the rest of this season and the seasons ahead.”

I was surprised to see he was sacked this morning, seeing as he survived a terrible Autumn which involved two poor performances against Brackley.Things looked like they were improving ,but a poor Christmas with a terrible performance yesterday has got him the sack.I'm sure the reaction from the fans at the final whistle yesterday helped Scally's decision. You can say Edinburgh's two years were 50/50 wth a brilliant first year, but 2016 was a terrible year with a 29% win ratio.I liked him personally from meeting him,but the results have not been good.

I would love to see Steve Cotterill come in who knows how to make Teams good at this level, and got the best out of JET and Wagstaff.

For once I totally agree with Scallywag, Glasgow was a disaster, good luck to the Cobblers they will be in the relegation zone come the end of the season .
How does a team like Northampton hire a guy who led a team from 1st to 12th last year and has done nothing this year , what the hell makes him such a good catch, maybe he is just good at interviewing ??
