Supposedly Paul Konchesky has signed for Braintree Town who are picking up some names for that level. He can't buy a game at the moment and it is thought that he might trigger a year extension to his contract if he reaches 30 appearances (he is on 29). If true I'm guessing he can't play for another full-time club as it's outside the transfer window and that he will not be offered an extension in the summer so would have no option but to play for a part-time side or stay at Gills and lose fitness and hope for the best in the summer?
If so it's a sad way to bring a good career to an end - to think he was at champions Leicester last season. Incredible. I thought he was no where near his best but still had moments of class. I guess, on his wages, it was a luxury we couldn't really afford. With all these decisions being made either the chairman is setting out his stall for next season after a decent investment in the squad this season, he's clearing the decks for the new manager in the summer or Pennock has been given the nod and is staring to shape his squad for the next campaign.
