Postby Garawa » Fri Apr 04, 2025 7:52 pm

- The Gills lead the wins over Chesterfield 31 to 23 and just 17 of the 71 meetings have been drawn. The Gills are unbeaten in 3 games against Chesterfield since the hosts last win (coming at Priestfield in February 2016).
- The Gills last travelled to Chesterfield in September 2016 - 2 late goals including a brace of penalties by Emmanuel-Thomas and a last minute Wagstaff goal earning a 3-3 draw. It made it successive visits scoring 3 goals (the other a 3-1 win) since their last defeat there in March 2015.
- The Gills have enjoyed successful trips to Chesterfield recently. Since they last lost on successive visits (Dec 93 and Feb 95), they have only lost 3 of the 12 away games and won 4. The last 5 trips have seen 2 wins each but 4 Gills wins and 2 defeats from the last 7.
- In February and March, Chesterfield lost 4 successive games ending a sequence of 13 games which saw 8 defeats and just 2 wins. The following 6 games saw the Spireites go unbeaten, winning 5 of them before losing 0-4 at Tranmere on Saturday.
- Chesterfield are unbeaten in 3 (2 wins) at home and have lost just 1 of the last 7, winning 4 of them.
- When Chesterfield fall behind in home games, they stay behind on average for the longest period of time in League 2 with an average of 48.8 minutes behind per deficit. It is 0.7 minutes 2nd placed Gills' home average.
- Both the Gills and Chesterfield have failed to score a first half goal in 5 of their previous 6 games and scored 2 in the other. The Spireites have not conceded a first half goal in 6 gales either but have conceded 5 second half goals in 2 games compared with the Gills 5 in 13 (and none in 8).

(19.45) Kick Off [ 3 - 4 - 1 - 2 ]
(19.46) Morris comes and collides with Hutton. The mix up allows Chesterfield chance to capitalise and Gale chests behind for a corner.
(19.59) GOAL! Chesterfield FC 0-1 Gillingham: Nevitt
(20.24) Little finds Nevitt whose stretch means his header can't be kept on target and it just misses the bar.
(20.30) 3 minutes are added to the half.
(20.33) Half time 0-1

(20.48) The second half kicks off.

(20.51) Gbode plays in Rowe who drives towards the box, escaping a series of challenges, but his driven shot goes straight at the 'keeper.
(20.56) Duffy is sent sprinting down the left. His far cross is headed down to the edge of the 6 yard box where the bemused Olakigbe volleys over from close range.
(21.03) With his shirt being pulled, Gbode stays strong and stays on his feet. He cuts inside but his shot goes just wide.
(21.18) Incessant pressure from the hosts who, 5 minutes ago made a triple change, this time flash a shot across the face of the goal from Mandeville.
(21.20) GOAL! Chesterfield FC 1-1 Gillingham: Grigg
(21.21) Nevitt keeps the ball in and floats a cross over the Chesterfield 'keeper and just over with no Gills player there to capitalise.
(21.28) Colclough goes for power rather than precision and flashes a shot across the face of the goal and wide. On target and it would likely have been the lead.
(21.33) The 4th official indicates 4 minutes will be added to the end of the match.
(21.38) FULL TIME 1-1
