- The Gills are winless (2 defeats) in their last 4 visits to Tranmere since last being victorious there in December 2013 thanks to an Akinfenwa brace. It is their only win in 7 away games at Tranmere with 4 ending in defeat (1-3, 0-3, 2-4 and 0-2).
- Like the Gills, Tranmere ended last season with an away win before starting this season with an away draw followed by a home win. Rovers are unbeaten in 5 matches after the postponement of their League Cup tie on Tuesday.
- Tranmere have won 2 of their last 4 home league games by a 4-0 scoreline. The Gills haven't won by 4 or more goals at home since the 2019/20 season. Tranmere also lost 0-3 in that run of 4 home games.
- Tranmere have yet to fall behind this season and have led for 71 minutes and 72 minutes in their opening 2 games resulting in them enjoying a league high of 143 leading minutes. Last season they led for 802 minutes from all 46 games from a league-low of 19 leads taken.
