Well, very impressive! Thought today was an excellent performance in all areas.
And! Montrose played really well in that role vacated by David Wright.

How good was Montrose?! I take back everything I have ever said about him! I honestly didn't know that he had that in him. Barret was immense; that save on the line defied gravity! The rest of the defence was outstanding and Weston was frightening when he got on the ball. Payne had his usual busy game until subbed - presumably because of his booking, Whelpdale had some classy moments and Keds never stops running. Anybody else who played was also excellent - all round a fantastic performance against a team that I think everyone thought would give us problems. I wish Torquay was a bit nearer!!

What a fantastic win. I had been out and as I logged on thought maybe, just maybe a 2-1 win would be awesome, but kind of had that pit of the stomach feeling, convinced myself that a point would not do us any real harm . Lol,lol, I beleive, I beleive, hope we get a good cup run as well put some money in the bank for next season , think we are going to need it where were going.
Well done the mighty Gills, must have been a great game to have watched.

Great performance from the whole team. Lewis Montrose was awesome today and deserved a goal. Also, good to share some football banter on the train from Gillingham with Cadburyman and his son! That will also be my last game for a while..moving to a new flat in Buckingham and baby on the way we need to save the pennies. Will get to a game in the new year hopefully!

Yes this was Gills in unstoppable form. Barring injuries or a teamwide loss of form I cannot see too many sides to fear throughout the league.
We just looked so good in every department and could have been 3 to the good in the first 10 mins. Defeats and draws will come of course but it is dificult to see who it is going to do it on this showing.

Each time it gets more and more impressive. I have never seen the whole side so coherent. Maybe Montrose needed a bit of a kick up the bum, with Lee back soon and maybe Wright getting another loan spell he might have found himself well down the pecking order. There is an astonishing never say die attitude, even goals to the good and we still hack balls off the line like our lives depend on it. I said yesterday that an extra goal scored and an extra one saved is and extra 2 goals. Do that a few games and the goal difference is massive and we win games we might have drawn. I think that is the measure of champions!

Just watched The Football League Show, apart from the football, how impressive did the Rainham end look for Joe Martin's goal! Cracking goal, cracking reaction! (I know all the ground erupted, but it looked good on the telly!)

What exactly was going on between the Rainham End and that side of the Medway stand? Was it Burton supporters in the Watch, Wine and Dine section?

It looked like disgraceful behaviour from our stewards. A Burton fan, an old man, cheered their goal then dropped his scarf, so he got some banter from the crowd. Later the RE sang, "Old man g'is a wave, Old man, old man g'is a wave" which he duly obliged. Of course our stewards had already spoken to him so they spoke to him again, he must have given them some answers back because the next thing we saw was him being dragged out. That is of course only how we saw it from the RE. It looked brutal to an old man who appeared to only be having a laugh.

The stewards at Gillingham are just idiots! Last week a lad was standing at the back of block 3 against a post and after 70 minutes in to the game, a supervisor came up and moved him back to his seat. Yesterday, I told a steward at 2.55 that 2 lads were in the same seat in the Rainham End just in front of me! Got the usual ''Oh i will have a look after kick off'' They didn't though!! But obviously not as important as picking on an old man! To be honest though, if Burton hadn't scored we would never of noticed him!

most pleasing thing about game today was how easy we stepped up a gear when they got back in it.Havent seen a gills team do that so effectively in a longtime. Its nice being top of league and being consiostent i could get used to this.
As for stewards manhandling an oap embarrassing wasnt it. He posed no threat and was simply having fun, he even celebrated our goals.

I was in the lower tier in front of the Burton fan(s). I had no issue with them, it was all just fun and banter and appeared an over reaction from the stewards. However, I did keep in mind there was a possibility that something must have happened that I did not witness for such a reaction from the stewards, also I could not work out if it was just lively spirits from the guy or whether he was under the alcoholic influence of them.

I know the stewards have a difficult job to do but if it was nothing more than lively banter from the guy, then I feel saddened that we have reached a stage in football where the long arm of dictatorship is reaching out to our every emotional responses. Regardless if he was told to sit down several times, he was doing no harm imo than showing some passion. If that is seen in any way as enticing or stirring unrest, then I would question who really is to blame in our so called family environment.

Thanks, I was wondering. Saw some activity from stewards after the Rainham end did some waving but couldn't see what from where I was. Then it got a bit more excitable with a load of babies (very big ones) waving their hands about! Very surreal really, its like we just won won the league!

Gary to add insult to injury to the whole sorry incident with the stewards.

The chief steward in teh rainham end told us that once they had ejected the Burton fans they discovered they were actually Milwall fans. I told him that was total Bollox. No way would milwall fans (pensioners at that) buy a meal deal package, buy burton scarves and celebrate burtons goals just to wind up gillingham. I said the stewards were just trying to validate their terrible behaviour.

Also the BURTON fans up the town end have been complaining as the stewards tried to make them sit in the seat numbers that matched their tickets, albeit all their seats were spread all over the place, so you would have 48 people all sitting on their own in different locations lol....

Someone with a brain needs to be employed in the role.
