Thank you Sir, I think that is what I was trying to say, lol,lol. There was a couple of bad apples in the barrel, and of course they won the day, there was no way on Gods green earth this Allen went from winning the Division to being a bum in ten weeks. Ok he is a wack job, funny thing is, you can be as nuts as you like, as long as you keep wining, all we had was whining from a few, bet B D was not one of them, or Hessy's kid.

What I can't get my head round is that sides that come up from League 2 often do quite well in League 1, very few go straight back down so the gap between the leagues aren't huge however, the quality of certain individuals is significantly better. Weston, Barrett, Nelson, Legge and McDonald looked soooo much better in League 2 than a lot of their counterparts so why doesn't it seem to be producing in League 1.

I get what you say Rimshot and I largely agree but if these same players are discovering League 1 is such a huge step up, why do the majority of other sides going up often fare much better without a massive overhaul of the playing staff. All I can think is that they started demoralised under Allen this season, struggled and never really got their game together? The alternative is that they were average in League 2 and Allen got them to perform far beyond their capabilities which I seriously doubt. We definitely need significant investment and player changes and a lot more than most thought last summer.

Isn't the spiral the same one we had for forty years before Scally, never higher than League 1 so I can't see any sense in that comment. Of course you have to be a realist, same as we did when Aston Villa were in our league, the two Sheffield clubs, Man City etc. You wanted to win, but didn't expect to win so there were no huge disappointments and a good atmosphere.
I think we have lost sight of who we are, a small club with average support, but who take a lot of fans away (many of them who can't stand the atmosphere at home games) who have historically spent most of our time in the football league in the bottom two tiers. We were a club that fit the community that surrounded it who generated a bit of pride every now and then and who for many were part of their social life.

I ' m not interested in 40 years ago elg, I was there. I dont want us to go back there, I'd like us to have success, ambition and win things. That is what competitive sport is about isn't it ?
