I was expecting us to sign a youngster with more experience then Tom Hadler as back up to Glenn Morris so I am slightly surprised we have signed Stephen Bywater, I think he is a solid signing considering that Glenn Morris is likely to play in goal tomorrow, but I am not expecting Stephen Bywater to play many matches for The Gills.

I also find it really interesting that we have signed Stephen Bywater on what is a a five month loan deal when you consider that Stuart Nelson is going to be out for 6 - 8 weeks with his thumb ligament injury, so are we expecting Stuart Nelson to have a setback ??? or do we still not know the time-frame of Stuart Nelson's recovery and we have signed Stephen Bywater on a five month loan deal so that we know for sure how long Stuart Nelson is going to be out injured for ???

I wondered that too. It worried me but then Taylor said a break heals quicker so he may well be out for a while.

Maybe he can't be sure how long the injury will take to heal so he covered us for al eventualities? Clues might be there?

But usually it you would do say 2 months then extend it. They are giving all indication they don't know how long he will be out then do this. Given that he played after Glenn Morris seemingly did well on Tuesday cleared it up a little bit more and was harsh on Morris but after Bywater saved the penalty he will be a cult hero now!

For a guy who is not expected to play much the manager seemed to have been pretty keen to get him into the squad ??
