Good news that Kedwell is back, hopefully he can make an impact off the bench on Saturday.I really don`t know what Team we will play, but I hope we can get something from the game.A win would be nice, but another defeat would be worrying.Linganzi impressed off the bench on Saturday,so he may get a start.

Keith Hill has revealed in his pre-match press conference that Gillingham signed one of Rochdale's transfer targets in the summer because we could offer £400 more a week compared to what Rochdale could offer - My guess is Luke Norris as Luke Norris scored a few goals past Rochdale while on loan at Northampton Town and Keith Hill might have been watching Norris's situation at Brentford very closely to see if he could sign him.

Peter Taylor speaks to BBC Radio Kent ahead of our match against Rochdale tomorrow.

Danny Kedwell is likely to be on the bench for Rochdale Away.

I think Gillingham will line up as follows.......................

-------------------------------Bywater-------------------------------------
Hoyte-------------Egan------------------Hause--------------------Martin
----------------Hessenthaler-----------Linganzi---------------------------
McGlashan----------------------------------------------------------Dack
-----------------Norris----------------McDonald-------------------------

Subs: Nelson (GK), Legge, Davies, Pritchard, Dickenson, Kedwell, German

With Doug Loft and Aaron Morris suspended and injured respectively our midfielder options have taken a hit and that may well force Peter Taylor to go with a 4.4.2 formation because we have got Cody McDonald, Luke Norris, Antonio German and Brennan Dickenson all available for selection, but it is Danny Kedwell's likely return to the match day squad which allows Peter Taylor the option to play two strikers up-front away from home, because we know that Danny Kedwell can come on for 15 - 20 minutes for either Luke Norris, Cody McDonald or even alongside the pair of them in a front three, also we need a win against Rochdale tomorrow so we may well need to line up with a attacking formation to try and pick up three points against a Rochdale Side who have always played a excellent passing game under Keith Hill's management.

We could play 3.5.2 / 5.3.2 like we did away at Sheffield United with Davies, Hause and Egan in the centre of defence or play Callum Davies as a holding midfielder and play five in midfield, but I think we will go for it from the off tomorrow and see if we can catch Rochdale out by naming a attacking formation away from home.

A early start means that I will be catching a lift at 7AM Tomorrow morning and it is going to be a long day, hopefully we can come back from Rochdale with all three points - COME ON THE GILLS!!!!!!!

Playing a team that's better away than home gives us some hope I guess, but of course we can't hit a garage door from 10 paces when we play away so don't expect anything other than Taylor going there with a team thats trying not to loose rather than trying to win, my prediction Rochdale 3 , Gillingham 1, no matter who he plays.

Did anyone go to the game ? Seems it was another pretty dismal performance by the mighty Gills by the account I read, still a point is a point and we stay out of the relegation zone, which can only be a good thing. PNE next, a point from that match, then 3 from Crawley should keep our heads above water.
I always read the opposing teams " Unofficial Team Forum," that way I can weigh up a game having "heard" both sides, seems in their opinion we are doomed, I think one post stated we were the worst team they had seen to date this season and how Dale didn't win by five no one seems to know, oh and the ref was against them as well, lol, lol, that sounds familiar ??

That sounds like the radio commentary as well, then everyone started saying how we were lucky and didn't deserve the point (in stark contrast to what the Football League show said though)!!! We lost points when deserved far more.....Swindon's last gasp gift of an own goal from us to steal a point, Sheffield Utd's late late late theft of a win, Notts County winning after we win a late penalty. These things even themselves up so we deserved a point really in the end. We played awful it seems but if a side that has scored 4 and 5 goals 3 times this season don't put the chances away then they were as bad as us!!!!

Listening to Gillsplayer it does sound like we robbed Rochdale. They should have been 3-0 up at half-time,and they had a few good chances in the second half.It is concerning that we`re struggling to compete at the moment in games. Is it the tactics? Luckily for us when you have Cody on the pitch then you always have a goal in you.We have two home games coming up now.We need to be looking at 4-6 points to lift ourselves away from the drop zone.

I don't keep these figures but I wouldn't mind betting we haven't kept unchanged side yet. Young players not all that used to first team football, constant changes and we have used just about every formation as well is the reason I think. How can they possibly gel and get an understanding if every week they are in a different position or have a different partner? Seems it will have to change Tuesday with Kedwell returning and now Morris and Hause appearing to be injured. Very frustrating. Young players want and need to play every game to improve and get better.......that includes you Mr Sterling!

Let's hope at least this sees an end to the nonsensical debate about dropping McDonald. He is our only class striker, arguably our only genuine class player.
Kedwell is a great asset to the side but take away his penalties and there are precious few goals remaining. I do agree with the comments about playing a settled side though.

I seem to recall that one of the complaints about our last manager was that he never put the same team on the field any two games in a row, of course we went up with 83 points that year so maybe PT is trying to imitate the former manager ?

Fair enough but making wholesale changes with no semblance of a plan is somewhat different to squad rotation; the latter in any case is only possible with some depth in the bank of talent at your disposal. I went to the first game of the season at MK; courtesy primarily of Cody's pace we had a two goal lead but as soon as they scored the final result was never in doubt. Second half we absolutely caved in and could have conceded 6 or 7.
I thought then we had better beef up the side or play the season out as relegation candidates. Nothing since has changed my mind.

Hopefully that scrappy goal on Saturday will give Cody McDonald a confidence boost and he can go on a goal-scoring run and get a few goals against Preston North End and Crawley Town in the next two home matches.

Sometimes players need to come out of the team to rediscover there form in-front of goal, but with Danny Kedwell not fully fit and Luke Norris as our second and third choice strikers then Cody McDonald may have to play his way through a bad spell and hope that the goals will start flying in now that he has ended his goal drought - (I think Antonio German will be loaned out while Brennan Dickenson has mostly been playing as a left winger and occasionally as a striker), we do need another centre forward because without Danny Kedwell up top we lack a striker with a physical presence to win the flick on's for Cody McDonald to run on to.

This is My FOM BLOG For Gillingham's 1 - 1 draw away at Rochdale on Saturday, sorry it took so long to upload but I wanted to proof-read my own material (always tricky to do) before uploading My Blog on to Tumblr and sharing it on here - anyway I have put in plenty of detail so hopefully you enjoy reading my most recent blog. :D

Phew, well thanks Ms.Fanny Mulligan, I of course have a job and a life to live so I was unable to read the whole thing, but the bit about your breakfast and the cokes you drink, well that was all pretty exciting.
I always find it strange that someone spends hundreds and hundreds of pounds watching GFC play home and away, (tickets, travel etc) then will not spend a couple of quid on a coke or a pork pie to enhance their visit to the ground, lol, what the hell does it matter, but that's just me.
I think I have, after looking at the photos, discovered why were so dam awful this year we stand around waiting for something to happen instead of making it happen. Throw in for Gilllingham , guy has the ball behind his head, about to throw it, Gills players standing there scratching their butts waiting for something to happen, run you bas*ards RUN
Anyway thanks for the report young lady, can I ask do you actually have a job, or are your still at school ??
I am intrigued to know and I will he says dropping into his best Dr EVIL voice from Goldmember , Pay ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS, what ok, ONE THOUSANDS DOLLARS, ok, ok, ONE MILLION DOLLARS to anyone that can give me that information , lol.
