Gillingham v Crawley Town-Match Thread

Postby Kent_UckyFriedGills » Thu Oct 23, 2014 9:29 pm

This is the second game of our two home games this week.It was disappointing to lose again at home on Tuesday after Priestfield had been a bit of a fortress.Crawley are a bit of a bogey side for us,but we did beat them at Priestfield last season.I think the Team really needs a win to boost our confidence and move us away from near the bottom four.We need a performance like the first half against Preston.

I think Gillingham will line up as follows.......................

--------------------------------Nelson-------------------------------------
Hoyte-------------Legge-----------------Egan---------------------Martin
----------------Hessenthaler-----------Doughty---------------------------
McGlashan------------------------------------------------------Dickenson
-----------------Kedwell--------------McDonald-------------------------

Subs: Bywater (GK), Fish, Hare, Pritchard, Dack, Norris, German

I think new loan signing Michael Doughty will be thrown into the starting eleven tomorrow as our injury and suspension list increases, as Kortney Hause, Amine Linganzi, Callum Davies, Doug Loft and Aaron Morris are all out, and with the number of injuries we have got at the moment then other then Michael Doughty for Josh Pritchard, I think the rest of the team will be un-changed.

That does leave a few question marks, like can Danny Kedwell and Jermaine McGlashan start two matches in five days ??? and will Stuart Nelson or Stephen Bywater start in goal ??? (I have gone with Stuart Nelson), the problem we have got at the moment is once Danny Kedwell is substituted we lose that focal point in our attacking play so we might have to force Danny Kedwell to play the full ninety minutes tomorrow knowing we have not got a mid-week game next Tuesday Night.

Any win will do tomorrow, today's news has put a negative light on to Gillingham Football Club and we can do with a win not just to end our poor run of six league matches without a win, but we can also do with a win to give our supporters something to smile about because it has been a tough few weeks supporting Gillingham Football Club at the moment - COME ON THE GILLS!!!!!!!

Another disappointing result.Gillsplayer had us as second best in the first half, and before Legge`s equaliser on half-time we should have been 0-2 down. The second half did sound more encouraging but only one shot on target was mentioned. One win in 10 League games is a real poor run,and I am finding it hard to see where our next win will come from.Taylor probably needs to avoid defeat at Fleetwood next week and get a win in the FA Cup to lift the pressure.

Pick up a point and drop into the red zone, so we wanted PT as a manager, give him a contract let him bring a young team in and build, haha ,what build to get out of the 2nd Division ,what a sad joke this season has become ?
