Gavin Hoyte in negotiations with Gillingham

Negotiations are under way for Gavin Hoyte to extend his contract at Gillingham.

With the loan signings of Max Ehmer and John Marquis and now negotiations with Gavin Hoyte about extending his contract at Gillingham Football Club, then I am convinced that The Four Man Caretaker Management Team of Darren Hare, Mark Patterson, Andy Hessenthaler and Steve Lovell will get The Gillingham Managerial Position on a permanent basis and if those four get the job permanently then I cannot see many Gillingham Supporters being happy with that decision.

Look, the four of them are good men and they are doing a respectable job in difficult circumstances, but the club need to release a statement and make it clear that Andy Hessenthaler, Darren Hare, Steve Lovell and Mark Patterson are taking charge of Gillingham on a temporary basis and they will not be considered for The Managerial Position at Gillingham on a permanent basis - a statement like that will end any speculation about a internal appointment and show that we are at least looking for a outside candidate to come in and be appointed as Gillingham Manager.

The fact a lot of decisions are being made along with Kedwell leaving for first team football suggests this might be the case however I'm not sure why Scally would hang on to that decision for a couple of weeks. This would create the worst reaction since Scally took over especially how Hessy's last reign as boss ended. 3 chances at it??????

I`m starting to feel that the 4 of them will get the job with Lovell being the main man.The rumours have dried up and we have not heard from Scally since Taylor was sacked.Usually we hear that we have had 100 applications and an appointment is not far away.The majority of fans would not be pleased as we were told that we`re interested in a younger more "flamboyant" manager.If we beat Crewe I would not be surprised if we hear they have got the job.

As for Hoyte we`re short on RB options and for me it is a no brainer to extend Hoyte`s deal until the end of the season.

Having the 4 man management team wouldn't be a problem for me, the last 2 games have shown far more desire to attack and take the game to the opposition than the season so far. As for wanting a younger more dynamic manager, they're replacing PT! anyone one is younger and more dynamic.

Lol Baron, I guess anyone is younger. I'm more than fine with the more attacking style but I'm a touch fed up with the risky gamble of untested managers, I really don't want another. In League 2 OK but we need someone that knows their way around this division a bit - doesn't have to be a big name just someone who has been there and done that. I can't see how some of these names can be in the frame when they come with no experience of league football. But that we would all probably know more than most of the names of the betting list including Lovell!
