Haha, very funny.
Beattie is following Premiership Managers around picking up " trinkets of information", so welcome Mr Beattie to Gillingham FC, as our 101st manager in 7 years, how are you going to save us from relegation ?? Beatties comments were slightly difficult to understand ,but I think he said, WHAT,sorry, can't here you, I was following Gary Monk around at Swansea , he bent over to pick up a trinket and my head is stuck up his ass.
The Duke of Edinburgh today confirmed that Her Maj will not let him apply for the job, she said the silly old fool has corgi walking duty's to perform.

I really am not excited by any of these names, largely all reserve coaches at league clubs, young untried managers at non-league clubs and, in the case of Beattie, a manager with league experience that hardly made a great deal of impact! Gareth Ainsworth appears to be the only one who has achieved something saving Wycombe from last minute relegation and turning them into promotion candidates the following year. We have heard about more established names such as Mark Yates but all that has gone very quiet. Today I hear Shefki Kuqi has applied, not sure how many more former players fancying a little stab at real life Football Manager I can take!

This quote worries me (although it was preceded by saying he helped his club qualify for the Europa League):
The moment Kuqi took charge, the club pretty much collapsed financially and a week into the job he lost his Chief Executive with Shefki practically running the club himself, paying bills out of his own pocket.

Using his contacts in Europe and England, Shefki got a team together and fought to save the club from relegation, which he succeeded in (having already been deducted points). Having worked, frankly, miracles at Honka, the club now no longer have a licence, the Finnish Federation removed the club from their leagues.
He is desperate to come back to England and with that, has applied for the vacant role at Gillingham.

I bet he is!! However this bit was interesting, although possibly a soundbite to help him get the job:
I feel it is a great place for me to show my ability as a manager, having already beaten relegation managing a club with no money in Finland and being favourites for relegation”
With his contacts that stretch all over Europe and within the Premier League, Kuqi also went on to explain how he would look to bring some high profile names to Priestfield.

Would be interesting but I still feel we need someone that knows their way round League 1, there must be somebody out there even if they haven't worked for a while.

It`s nice to see that things are starting to move on the Managerial front.Edinburgh has said he would talk to Gills if we make an approach, and Sky Sports were reporting that we have made an approach for Neal Ardley of Wimbledon.

Blimey who wants a manager like Pulis, Peacock or Summers. Let's go for a Burkinshaw, Roeder or even George Graham!

If Justin Edinburgh gets the job and brings his backroom staff with him, then Bradley Dack's dad will be assistant manager...

Fish said today from his new teams headquarters just 48 hours before they play Manchester City in a top of the table clash, that Scally said he was happy with the gang of 4 and things would stay the same as they are for the foreseeable future, don't quote me word for word ,but that just about sums it all up.
Ebbsfllet have bought more players in this past week than Gillingham and were like 46 divisions above them in the food pyramid all be it on the verge of relegation, and now I convinced Mr.Scally is no more interested in Gillingham FC staying in Division 1 than flying to the moon.

Does anyone think Edinburgh would be interested in the Gills job if we did approach Newport? I noticed Neal Ardley quickly refused it,but Edinburgh has not said that he wants to stay or brushed it off like Ardley has.The Newport press have been asking him all week, but he says he would have to speak with us if we approach them.I watched a video yesterday where he says he travels hundreds of miles a week from his Essex home, and hardly gets any time with his Family.I think he would be tempted for personal reasons as jumping across the Dartford crossing would be a lot easier for him each day.Add in that we`re in a higher league, bigger club, higher attendances, and a bigger budget.

Quote From Justin Edinbrugh......

“I haven’t ruled myself out as there is nothing to rule out, the club have had no contact and neither have I, so as far as I am concerned there is nothing to talk about apart from our next game against Northampton.

Neal Ardley ended the speculation by speaking after the defeat to Carlisle United at the weekend and Neal Ardley mentioned he was and still is committed to AFC Wimbledon, the fact that Justin Edinbrugh has not done the same-thing means that we're open to interpretation, that Justin Edinbrugh would be interested in The Gillingham Job if we approached Newport County.

No one has approached me or this club with regards to the GFC job he said, as he signs an extension at Newport . See ya next season Mr. Glasgow when we probably play you either in Division 1 or 2.
