John Gregory....

Postby Garawa » Mon May 04, 2015 6:38 pm

.....was at the ground on Sunday. I bumped into him in the press area but he wasn't sitting with us and sat in the corner of the Medway stand closest to the Town end instead. I saw later on the Football League show he was off sick but was now better and his future (along with Dean Saunder's) would be decided in the next few days. Firstly I find it odd why he was there and wondered if he was being lined up for a move to Notts County but then found it even odder that if still employed by Crawley that he might be there for support in their attempt to avoid the drop!

Yeah I would have expected Gregory to have watched his Crawley side, unless he has been told he wont be Manager next season.

I think John Gregory's future as a Football Manager is over because of his health problems.

The pressure of football management and the emotional rollercoaster that Manager's will be on through-out the ninety plus minutes will not be good for John Gregory's heart, I can see John Gregory in a Youth Development or Director Of Football Development Role, but first team management is probably out of the question now.

Which then begs the question was he there as a fan then? He wasn't there in an official capacity and if he doesn't go back into management then he must be. Perhaps he lives local.

No surprises, but John Gregory has left Crawley six months after his heart surgery.
