What do you dislike about football

Now there are many things in football we enjoy, but there are also a few things within the game that get our blood boil and aspects of the game that frustrate us, I thought it would be a good idea to put a few suggestions in this thread, and put some aspects of football into Room 101.

I start things off with a few suggestions........

1. Long Tuesday Night Games - This Season Gillingham have got the following Tuesday Night Fixtures... A Bradford City, A Fleetwood Town A Rochdale and A Plymouth Argyle - Plymouth Argyle in The League Cup is a bad draw for Gillingham, but also Scunthorpe United, Fleetwood Town and Rochdale all have to make long distances to Priestfield Stadium during the mid-week.

What I like to see done: I think this problem could be easily resolved by expanding The Football League Season by a few weeks and put those long Tuesday Night Games on the additional Saturday's instead.

2. Ticket Prices - Bristol City have to pay £39 pound a ticket plus travel for there away trip to Sheffield Wednesday, I think Liverpool Supporters had to pay £60 a ticket for there away trip to Arsenal, I think Peterborough United for £28 is the most expensive amount I have paid for a league fixture for a Gillingham Game, but ticket prices are very expensive, The Premier League have no excuse to have ticket prices that high with all the television revenue that comes into the game, you can give The Football League more benefit of the doubt, but even so, Sheffield Wednesday charging Bristol City £39 is bang out of order.

What I like to see done: I think Season Ticket Holders should get incentives for away fixtures, Friends For A Fiver and Kids For A Quid benefits other people and doesn't benefit The Season Ticket Holder, I would like to see cheaper tickets or cheaper coach travel as a option for away supporters.

TV company`s changing games from the original time to an early kick off or midweek game for their own benefit.Newcastle have to travel to Bournemouth this season for a 12:45pm KO because BT Sport have decided they want to show this game.So that is a 300+ mile journey each way,which means Newcastle fans have to leave ridiculously early for this game.

1. Greed. It's the exorbitant wages of many players, managers, agents and hangers on together with absolutely ridiculous transfer fees that help make admission fees out of the reach of many people. Also the fact that teams are playing far too many games in a season. When you add all the various cup games,European and domestic to the league fixtures, teams especially in the Premier League have to have huge squads of first team players. What to do about it? Cut the size of the leagues, The only European comp should be the Champions League and meaningless international friendlies should be kept to a minimum. The money received from tv rights is obscene, it's enough to run many third world countries. I also can't understand why clubs can't share their stadiums. If the Milan clubs can share the San Siro then why on earth can't Bristol City and Rovers share. Likewise many, many more clubs including the likes of Liverpool and Everton. Their grounds are so close that they could share one of the grounds whilst an 80,000 stadium could be built on the other site, how much money would that save?
2.Size of leagues. The Premier league could be reduced to 18 teams with all the other league having 20. With the reconfiguration you could have the present top three leagues and the 2nd div split into the old system of 2nd North and 2nd South. This of course would necessitate in the promotion of a few non league teams to make up the numbers but that's no problem at all. That would negate the need to travel massive kilometres on Tuesday nights, even wiping out Tuesday nights all together. Promotion and play offs could remain the same, thus making even more teams involved in the action right to the end of the season.
3.Home grown players. I would like to see a percentage of home grown players in every match day squad, meaning players that can play for England. This number could start low but gradually increase to as much as 50% over the next 5 years. Perhaps England could be a force again under an English manager. Just in case anyone misinterprets that, it's not a racist statement in any way as people who have read my posts would be aware of. I just think it's wrong that someone like Mourinho, brilliant as he is, could manage England.
That's some of my thoughts for the day, I'll wait and see if anyone agrees with me.

Ange Postecoglou, Head coach of Aussie National Soccer Team, Born.......... Athens Greece. The whole team that will be playing for Qatar in 22 will have been born outside of the country with parents and grandparents born outside the country but suddenly there GUITAR citizens ??
I think the whole soccer world is crazy, the money being poured into the top clubs could cure cancer, but like the man said would you pay to go see a Formula One race if Ford Escorts were racing, or the Grand National if monkeys were riding goats ??
I remember when each club was allowed TWO foreign players, Spurs had Ozzie and Villa that was around 1980 ish, well we had all home grown talent before that and we only managed to win One World Cup so I guess it's not the overseas players stopping us from winning is it ??
As for the chosen one managing ENGLAND yes please, I used to be dead against it, but if England could bring a manager in from the Jupiter that understands the modern game and the players wanted to play for him I would be the first to chuck in a tenner to help pay for his salary.
As for the number of games each season I totally agree far far to many and I love it, something to watch every day through the winter and lets be honest these guys are not riding bikes from say London to Germany or Spain when they play ,they travel first class in a private plane,someone looks after them hand and foot most of them don't even know what their own suite case looks like, they would be standing at the carousel from now to dooms day if they had to get it themselves.
There is so much "wrong with football" we all know that, but when your one of the guys making millions a year it's pretty hard to give any of that up to get things changed, I mean look at FIFA and who at noon on the 8th of August is still the President ,that just about sums it all up.
Then I ask myself was footie any better back in the early 60's when I first went to a Gills game and there was one game being shown on the beeb of a Saturday night at ten o clock and another on a Sunday afternoon at 3 and EVERYONE all ready knew the score because the thing had finished hours before, lol,lol yeah that was fun and like idiots we watched it.

Good reply but one correction. Yes Ange Postecoglou was born in Athens but moved to Australia when he was 5. He then played all his football in Australia and coached in the NSL and then the A-League. He also coached the Aussie u20s before finally getting the Socceroos gig. As an Aussie citizen I think that qualifies him as a dinky di Aussie.

The dead ball tango...pairs of players with their arms wrapped around each other, referees ignoring the mayhem, assistant referees ignoring the ref ignoring the mayhem, commentators and ex-players saying 'he had a right to fall down' there. You can't get away with a clean slide tackle, a header where you make physical contact of any sort or winning the ball above knee height but you can attempt to take the shirt off someone's back or give them a bear hug without being penalised.

Apparently it's all too difficult for the game's administrators to sort out, a bit like finding anywhere in the world with a reasonable climate to hold a World Cup I suppose.

I watched the PNE v Boro game this past Sunday, just an awful game, I don't think the game went a minute without a foul , but only three yellow cards given and the thing resembled a wrestling match when a corner or free kick was given.
