So why didn't we pull back Davies who is out on loan ,or does this mean he's gone and were looking to sign Lennon full time ?

I think Davies is in a period where he can't be recalled for a couple more weeks? I'm surprised by this. Not sure we need him, not sure he adds much to what we have or that I remember how he played last season! We have options we don't appear to be using at all AND Aaron Morris was back Tuesday after several games out.

What did you think of him last night? He seemed fairly quick but I wasn't convinced he understood his job.

Lennon looked decent last night,I thought he may have got MOTM as he won most headers and looked solid at CB.

I thought he was a midfielder. Perhaps we was a little uncomfortable in a new role. He had a decent game though.

Sounds like he had a decent game at the weekend! If he scores goals as well that can't be bad!

Not only did Harry Lennon score Gillingham's Third Goal on Saturday but he had to adapt to playing as a left centre back which is completely different as two centre backs in a back four.

I also think that Harry Lennon gave Max Ehmer and John Egan more assurance as these two knew they had someone else alongside them, as John Egan and Max Ehmer have basically been played as a back two as Ryan Jackson and Brennan Dickenson are both very attack minded and our centre backs have been left isolated at times, a third centre back not only gives John Egan and Max Ehmer more cover, but it allowed Jermaine McGlashan and Brennan Dickenson to push much higher up the pitch as these two could play as attacking wing backs rather then play as attacking full backs in a back four.

I also cannot remember the last time four centre backs were on the score-sheet for Gillingham at this stage of the season, as John Egan, Max Ehmer, Adedeji Oshilaja and Harry Lennon have all scored this season, defiantly a stat for Gary to try and figure out.

I don't keep a record of what specific positions have done what. To be honest its hard enough to keep one as simply defenders or midfielders as they swop about often. For example when Aaron Morris dropped back into right back or if Dickenson scored in a midfield 4 rather than as an attacking left back. Systems are so fluid these days its hard to pin players to certain areas. That said out and out defenders are easier but without looking I would imagine it was a while ago. The detailed stats I keep only really go back to the 2009/10 season.
