FA Cup First Round Draw 2015/2016

Postby Kent_UckyFriedGills » Wed Oct 21, 2015 4:36 pm

The draw for the first round of the FA Cup takes place on Monday 26th October live on BBC2 from 7pm.We could be the highest seed in the draw should we better Walsall`s score on Saturday.Who does everyone want this year? We wont fear anyone, but it would be nice to get a lower side.I am over the Brackley result now so wouldn`t mind them again,or anyone non league.

First round it would be nice to get someone local like Maidstone at home that would bring a goodly number of fans with them, and kick their butts all over the field winning like 7-1, In the second round draw York City at home, where they have to travel 300 miles and have a poor away record, then in the third round draw the big one, MANCHESTER UNITED AWAY , big payday for the Gills , no excuse then not to spend money on players during the New Year transfer period.

I would love to go to Manchester City to watch Gills. I've been to Old Trafford but didn't think much of it. City's ground looks spectacular. Or maybe Arsenal's stadium. I used to follow Spurs and went to Highbury in disguise several times in the seventies. It would be good to go to Arsenal's 'new' ground in Gills colours.

Depends how much they charge Lidbid! Saw the Bayern Munich fans protesting by not watching the game for the first 5 minutes after having been made to pay £64! Crazy given the journey and travel etc.

I'd like a home tie against non-league side. NOT a Kent club as more often than not we lose them! Wanting to knock us off our perch as the only league club in Kent, invariably an away tie at a Championship club would prove an "easier" prospect. With a potential 4 non-league Kent sides in the draw if they make it through, the chances of getting one would be higher then normal. Imagine Maidstone away!!!! After the late cancellation of the friendly I can see this happening, could be feisty!

We might not be Kent's only team in the league soon, both Bromley and Dover are doing great this year, (Bromley is still in Kent ,yes?) , now I don't want to draw one of them away but you watch, I bet we do, lol.
Who cares were not scared of anyone this year, we have a young team sitting top of the division, they don't know any better than to think they can beat anyone, so come on Gods of the FA CUP, do your worst give it your best shot we don't care who we get.

And the draw is..........DOVER AWAY........................NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I don't care who we get as long as it's not Maidstone on their plastic.

Stevenage away. Not exciting, but certainly winnable.Their fans think they`re out already.

And thats how they should think, their playing a team at the TOP of the FIRST DIVISION while they themselves stare at the relegation zone in Division Two, with only three home wins all season. Stevenage 1-3 Gillingham, then we get Maidstone or Dover at home in the second round and double that score..
It would be nice to have a cup run and get a pay day before the transfer window closes . GO BIG BLUE.

Justin Edinburgh thinks the game should be live on TV,but I think there will be many ties ahead of us.Maidstone v Yeovil.Salford v Notts County,Wealdstone v Colchester,FC Halifax/Guiseley v Wycombe,Didcot v Exeter,Gainsborough Trinity v Shrewsbury,Braintree v Oxford,and FC United Of Manchester v Chesterfield.

The draws I was desperate to avoid were long northern trips like Carlisle United, Accrington Stanley or Morecambe, or, we avoided a away trip to a fellow League One Side.

So I am pleased that Gillingham have avoided both of those possible scenario's, Stevenage Away is going to be a very difficult tie and we're not through to The Second Round of The FA Cup by any stretch of the imagination, but at least Stevenage not being far to get to means that there should be a large away support at Broadhall Way, cheering The Gills on for what we hope will be an important win.

If Stevenage away is a difficult tie, then I guess I had better bet the farm on Gillingham having there ass's handed to them this week at Walsall . What do you recon it's going to be Miss Fanny Mulligan , Walsall 5- 1 Gillingham ??
Stevenage have played 15 and won a whopping 3 games, there a tomato can, get your coke from the dollar discount store and book your tickets NOW for round 2.
