New exciting things to engage the fans behind the scenes, great new food, new facilities (I'm told) and a new team coupled with the club really engaging the fans through social media that helped to boost the numbers. The noise was superb, better than even when we won the league as that needed encouraging. Loved every second although I'm very hoarse today!
Young hungry players that have yet to gel, it bodes very well but we were allowed to play and we have very attacking players that can capitilise on it. The question is whether we can break sides down if they try and stifle that play. That's when experience will count and we don't have a lot of that. Every player was 9/10 in my book. You can never give a 10 as you can always do just that little bit more!
I saw this on another forum about the Club being good to the fans.I hope they can keep this up!
"Thought I'd tell you all about a good bit of PR from the club.
This weekend was my daughters 6th birthday and as a result her party was booked 2-4 on Saturday. I tweeted the club that morning after a birthday Tweet for my little one and what they came back with was fantastic.
They invited us to the club at 4 when the party was finished and she was given a flag along with a programme signed by Cody with a birthday message (he's her favourite). They then said we could come in and watch the rest of the game if we wanted.
About 5 minutes after we were put in the Medway Stand, Charlotte Richardson (her in charge of PR) came down and said we were moving. She then took us up to the boxes where Cody had invited us to watch the game with him and the other players, happily posing for photos with the birthday girl.
Top work from the Gills and apparently this sort of thing looks set to continue so just wanted to spread how chuffed me and my daughter were with their excellent work, especially following a time where all the news seemed to be bad news.
